What are you doing today?

I caught the flu back in early November. I'm still feeling the effects from it in the form of congestion and sudden drops of energy.
I do hope all get well fast, or stay well, and that we all roll into the New Year in the best of health.

I hope you feel better soon. Take it easy and cuddle with the kitties.

I didn't have the flu, but had that chest congestion, a cough, lost my voice, and felt like I had no energy. I still have the dang cough, not as bad as a few weeks ago. But very annoying.

I’m at church. Jan 1 is the vicars birthday so the church ladies planned a not so surprise party after mass. I channeled my Mormon roots and made funeral potatoes.

Yesterday I went with Nancy to her ophthalmology appointment in Burien then went to Metropolitan Market for cheese and olives for NYE. Today I will go to gun club and shoot skeet since weather is so nice, albeit a bit cold. Afterwards will go to commissary and Class VI store.

I worked from 6p-1a this morning.
Those were the hours my director sent me, so I agreed to go in.
NEVER again.
We are at low census and probably will be for quite some time.
That early evening shift is so much more difficult than being there all night until morning.
Ugh
We have the heaviest med pass and treatments than any other place.
We nearly got a re-admit.
Thank God it didn't happen.
The paperwork for those is a bitch.

It’s been terribly foggy here with moderately bad air quality. Intermittent drizzle should help but no shooting. I stayed for the conversation and coffee, one guy and his wife stopped by before heading to SeaTac and flight to Viet Nam for the winter. His wife is Vietnamese and a sweetheart, probably same age as me.

Super busy morning today.
Grocery shopping, work meeting with the information that prn / 8 hr nurses scheduled days( like me) will continue to be dropped until the census picks back up.
It's a good thing I have 2 other incomes to rely on.
😒
I'm just along for the ride at this point.

Today’s all about experimenting in the kitchen! Trying out a new roasted vegetable recipe with garlic, herbs, and a pinch of Himalayan pink salt — fingers crossed it turns out as good as it smells. What’s everyone else cooking or up to today?

Hi Faisal - we welcome new members who are interested in sharing recipes, techniques and photos of dishes that they have prepared.

If you would like to stay with us, please post a little about yourself in the Introduction thread
Thanks!

My indoor Christmas decor is also packed away. I'm keeping the outside lights and greenery up until February 2 (Candlemas.) Honestly, I wish I had left the candles in the windows until then too. The house has no sparkle at the moment.

Does anyone do anything to spruce up the house for the winter months after Christmas? I'm thinking of organizing a corner lounge with blue, cream, and white blankets or something. Summer always shines as does spring. Fall is lovely. Christmas is awesome. But the months between Christmas and the start of spring just needs something.....

I put up a few snowman decorations in January. February first is for the Valentines Day decs. March is St. Pat's Day. April (usually) is for Easter decorations. Then, other than to put out a few summery sun-catchers and small flag for the 4th of July, I'm done until Halloween.

I do have a scented candle lit in a front window every night. And an electric candle on a timer, to light up a dark corner all year round.

Oh, yeah, and tiny Lincoln hat and Washington's ax that my father's best friend made out of wood, for Presidents Day.

I have different throw pillows for the window seats. I change them out by seasons.

Thanks, @QSis! I love snow men and have some in the dining room. Table placemats and a snowflake table runner. A few snowman plates too. I have a table runner with hearts. One year, after bringing my grandmother's small buffet home, my sister bought me a box of holiday/seasonal table runners for the buffet, which I love. I have some pink rose plates that I use in the dining room as well. But not much for the rest of the house. You guys have given me some nice ideas. Thank you!
