What are you doing today?

I've been talking and face-timing with Kasey, my oldest grandbug a lot! today.
She and a friend are moving to Portland, Oregon on Sunday.

She's got a job lined up out there ever since she got her certification from Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology.

I was thrilled when she got her nursing and EMT certification, but she chose another route entirely.
Jeff isn't happy about her moving so far away, but we're going to fly out there as soon as she's settled in.

I took my lonnnng walk and did some praying on the matter.
Hoping it's the right decision.
I'm just across the river from Portland...

What is Kasey certified to do Lora? As a once-aspiring scientist myself, the name of the institute is impressive!

Is that the field her new job is in?

For the first time EVER, my Christmas shopping is also done! I intend to start wrapping today!

Congratulations, Kathleen! Feels good, doesn't it? I've ordered 3 boxes of Christmas cards and will write them out next weekend (I send about 40 and maybe get a dozen , but it's a family tradition that I love).

I like to have nearly everything done before Thanksgiving.

This is a first for me. I will be totally happy once all is wrapped and things get shipped. In the past, I have been one of those frazzled people at the holidays. This year, my goal was to have all done prior to Thanksgiving. I've rarely even sent cards. This year, my fella used AI to make an image to use for our cards. The picture has three kittens that are dead-ringers for our three wildlings. So I made cards today.

I order Christmas cards in October. I write them out in November. I mail them the day after Thanksgiving. Our gift list is really small and usually online, so they get shipped directly to folks - have you seen the price of postage these days!? If I don't pace myself, I get very frazzled too. This works for me.

Kasey is going to let us know when they get to Davenport, Iowa tonight or whenever.
She says they're going to be in Portland within 4 days.
This journey is going to be a long one for me.
I'm worried as any Grandmother would be.
Jeff is on pins and needles being her Daddy.

I have to work tomorrow night.
Already know I'll be distracted the entire time.
Ugh..😕😵‍💫

We've been at my brother's house near Houston for 3 days and today are driving over to Austin for a week (about 3 hours away). We're staying with my sister who lives there. Our middle daughter lives in Georgetown which is near Austin. Spending Thanksgiving with our daughter, her husband and our grandson, and of course will be going over to visit every day.

My only nephew just built a house and moved his family to Georgetown. If you run into Beau Fraser, give him a hug for me!

Since the day of my grandmothers, we have spent a day polishing up any metal, silver or silverplate for the holidays. It works well as we know when we last polished anything. Today was that day. I started around 9 AM and completed everything by 4 PM. Now I am sitting and happily smiling any silvery twinkle I see....and noticing that I really need to wash some glass lamps......some china....some cut glass.....maybe wipe down the China cabinet.....

I do enjoy polishing silver. It's a Zen-like thing to do. However I do miss the day when it was a family event. A small sample.

Wow, mine never looked as clean and beautiful as that! What brand of polish do you use?
