What are you doing today?

Saturday I attended the funeral of a dear church lady friend. She was 92, from Iowa, and we used to talk every Sunday about the Hawkeye football games. She was an Iowa grad and played snare drum in the Scottish Highlander's. Her daughter's had a bagpiper play Amazing Grace at the end of the funeral.

I made madeleine's for the cookie table. Her late husband was a Norweigan Lutheran and the ladies from his church brought pies. I had a slice of apple and a slice of key lime. It was all good. I stayed after and helps the ladies club with the dishes. RIP Joanna.

Saturday evening one of the bunko ladies had a big cinco de mayo party. We ate and met some new neighbors but didn't stay long.

On the schedule which always varies..
Ali is going to do weed whacking.. me laundry.. then housework..
Chasing grandchildren..
In an orderly fashion.
:yum:

..and the progress..
Still needs some ground work.
Now the question: to put 3 flowering shrubs there or as DIL wants to do, a bunch of wildflowers?
The planters are going to have geraniums.
The veg garden is next.

I'll be seeing Victor this evening and go to the office to see about another client.
Gonna be another gorgeous day.

That's what I've been doing too...yard work. I'm actually enjoying it. It's been so long since we've had really nice weather.

I vote with the DIL...flowering shrubs, hopefully evergreens. You can always add some annuals for color around the perimeter of the shrubs.

It's still a work in progress.
We're to have wet stormy weather for a stretch coming.
I don't think she'd want any more evergreens.
We are surrounded by them.
I suggested cotoneaster shrubs tho, as they berry and bloom depending on the time of year.

I'd like geraniums in the planters.
She already threw flower seed mix down.

Still haven't gotten started on a veg garden.
Always so much going on all the time.

So DIL is at her Mom's for the mega garage sale.
Just spoke with her, she said they've been super busy.
I'm cleaning, straightening up, working on the never ending laundry while the kiddos nap.

Day 2 of watching the grands while DIL is at the garage sale.
She made over $250 yesterday.
Their total for the day was $1,000!

My son got me Mama's Day roses.
:D

Studying, studying, studying... It´s the exams time here. A way too many exams!

But at the Monday I passed the exams of pharmaceutical calculations - on the first try. Not all managed to do so.

:encore:

No more exams now but few months holiday (hurray!). Time for gardening, baking, knitting and crocheting. I just finished a new summer dress (or long jumper):

I gave them both baths yesterday. What an ordeal! They did pretty good with the baths but hated the blow dryer.

I've been missing this thread for over a month, evidently!

Sorry for the loss of your friend, John.

Sass, those roses are absolutely gorgeous!

Congrats on getting through your exams, Saliha!

And, Cooksie, congrats on your kittens! How did you come by them? What are their names? Details, please!

Right now I'm resting.. while the kids and their Mother are napping.

Jax and Max - Straight off of CraigsList - They're still babies. They're like ferrets. They chase each other and roll up into a big ball until one calls uncle.

Baking bread for today's dinner, working, taking care of pugs, and starting tomorrow night's dinner.

Cooksie, I've seen many videos of cats who love water. That has NEVER been my experience, however, LOL!

Medtran, I could just crawl into one of those rolls and eat my way back out!

DIL and I are taking the kids to a church that has an indoor playground.
It's for summer fun activity with bouncy castle, painting, reading and crafts.
After that we're eating at one of our favourite "greasy spoons".
DIL has knee surgery Thursday morning, so we're finding something fun to do as she'll be out of commission for a while.

Had fun with the grandies.
They didn't want to leave.
Very nice, very clean play areas with strict rules.
We'll be going back again.

Trying to keep the granddaughters from jumping on DIL.
She had ACL /meniscus repair.
Finally had to shut the bedroom door and send them for naps.
My son is out mowing 4 acres in this heat.
With a Winston hanging out of his mouth.:bangin:

He's to grill later.
I'm nurse supreme lately, but it's here and not at work.
I took time off to attend to family.
Back as soon as she's TTWB or better.

Wish DIL a speedy recovery.
Had that done on the right on St. Valentines day of 1973. The old way; with the 7 inch incision. Knee is not right ....

Oh! and by the way, Tell your son, the first thing after recovery, when I got back to my room, I fought to have a cigarette. ( smoking was allowed IN THE BED )!
2 puffs, and I threw up! hahahahahaha

Today I am cleaning a little 10,000 btu window A/C unit for DD.

It's more of a job than the darn thing is worth. Didn't get the high temps here yet. 74 degrees and 50% RH .

After that, it's power wash the deck and everything else that DW finds dirty.

Lol
She's got 4 incisions covered in steri-strips underneath the brace, ace wrap and bandages.
I removed her q-cath this morning.
Percocet seems to be enough right now.

Keeping the kiddies chill with the help of Dora and snacks.

Oops!
Maddie is sideways...sorry about that.

I hope you enjoyed the concert, John.
I like him.

Well, still kinda reeling over the actions of my teenaged Granddaughter.
She harmed herself over the comments made about her on Facebook, by a boy she came to know as friend.

She's going to be fine.
She's in a coping center and will go to counseling with my son.

We've discovered tons of wild blackberries in a clearing atop the hill beyond the pond.
I'll pick a bunch today and make cobbler soon.

While "Divesting" of some boxes from the basement, I came upon this little Blast from the Past..........

Good Seasons.jpg

I bought my kittens one of those Smartykat three-way tubes from Amazon, and they absolutely love it. It's made out a nylon material like a parachute or tent, and it sounds all scrunchy when they jump on it, which they love.

Those little suckers are so rough that they have already ripped an edge and exposed one of the wires. I was afraid that they would poke an eye out, so I had to resort to the Redneck-Fix-It-All material...duct tape .

I have one of those Good Seasons dressing shakers too :).

I've got to figure out how small wasps are getting into my house. I've had about 3 in the last 7 days, and it's driving me crazy.
