What are you doing today?

I'm doing what I can to get a little housework done.
It's slow going and always something.
That's exactly what I do! Slow, but sure; it gets done. And, I rest in between.
I will be the house maid for the next four to five days. DW goes for surgery tomorrow.
I will take advantage to get some inside work done she has been nudging me to get done!

This is pitiful. About the most exciting thing that has happened to me lately was the discovery of some new episodes of Parenthood on Netflix. I do love that series.

Hang in there, Jimmy. I'm sure you'll be an excellent house maid

. Hope all goes well with the surgery.

I recently watched the Cooked series, by Michael Polland, on Netflix and highly recommend it. I'll want to watch again.

I'll get my grand daughter this afternoon.

Thanks cooksie,
Tina is going to be released tomorrow hopefully and with the help of God!
She had 10 inches of her rotted and infected colon removed and then reattached; all caused by diverticulitis.

Re: ironing.
I could iron, starch collars, and sew. Mom said,"son, some day you will need these skills to get by!"
She was so right! .... Those skills came in handy when I was in the Service. It saved me a lot of money, which I never had.
Payday's were far and few in between.

I'm playing Nurse Jimmy today! Tina came home from the hospital at 1:00 PM.

She is in the recliner in the living room. I've been doing all I can to keep her comfortable, and fed plus medicated. It's only been 78 hours post Op. And she's home already.
Boy, time flies fast.

I watched the trailer of that, JW. Looks interesting.

I'm glad Tina is home and on the mend, Nurse Jimmy. I understand that diverticulitis stuff is very painful. My twenty-something-year-old nephew ended up in the ER with it.

About the only productive thing that I accomplished yesterday was changing out the flowers on the things that I hang on the front and back doors. I also called around and got some estimates  for having the eaves on my house power washed. I may just rent a power washer and do it myself.

I haven´t done very much today, just sit on my couch and knit new cardigan. I need to go to bed early as tomorrow is working day again and I have to wake up at 5am.

I am working now in the health center as the care assistant. My job is to take care of serving food for patients in the rehabilitation department and do some other nursing assistant works.

Good luck on the new job. Sounds great! ....

Thanks cooksie..... I graduated today, by giving Tina her daily blood thinner injection in the belly.

You know what? ... think about it. By the time and cost renting a power washer, it may be more feasible to buy one at the home depot or Lowes. Electric washer can be as little as $89.00. Then you can use it at your own pace; without having to rush to get it back in time at the rental place. And now you can do many other things and cleaning with it, and best part, is it is your own.

So now it's Dr. Jimmy :D. You are much braver than I am. I couldn't even bring myself to give the cat allergy shots.

I'll have to check out the power washers. That's probably the smartest thing to do.

Yesterday, I was trying to change out a light bulb in a pathway light. You have to take out 4 6" long screws to get to the bulb. I was having a hard time getting the screws out, and then I noticed a little warning on the top of the fixture that said, "always use anti seize lubricant." Didn't even know there was such a thing, but I know now that it sure wasn't used when the thing was put together the first time. Live and Learn

Yeah.... I learned as when removing a screw, add just a drop of oil, or even a little smidge of vaseline on the tip of the screw before re inserting it.

The Karcher I've used when cleaning Air Conditioning equipment years back, and the stood up to some vigorous work, and abuse. I bought like 8 of them for the mechanics / service personnel, and they did the job. Great for medium duty cleaning, and lightweight and small enough for stowage in a tight spot.

I paid $113.00 each at that time.

My day is not done yet. LOL...I'm still on the clock. I have the last load of laundry to throw in the dryer. All the wash is done; folded, and put away.
It's the first time, in a long time, that one could actually L00K ant see the bottom of the tall laundry basket in the laundry room. LOL

Tina is home recuperating from her surgery, so I'm playing nurse, cook, and maid.
I'm more like a Mr. Mom. hahhahaha

OOops !!... Last chore. Need to grab a 5 gal jug of water to replace it on the water cooler in the kitchen.

Thanks for the Karcher link, Jimmy. I watched the video of the guy cleaning his deck, and it looked like he had to be right up next to it for it to come clean easily. I don't think I have the stamina to do that with the eaves way above my head, and ladders are out for moi :chicken:.

Yeah! I hear ya!

I didn't know what the eaves are made of, but if plastic siding, a soap spray that you attach to the garden hose to apply the soap or cleaner, and then you turn the dial to rinse.
Less costly, and no high pressure needed.

Another thought, is hire a handy person to do it.

doctor's appt., my nurse saw/took me, onto bar, seeing if my guy-pal'll be there. have him over if he isn't stuck @ his job....... he sent me a msg. to drink w/ him that i was not aware of when i was typing earlieron. see yinz guys~

Just finished washing a load of clothes.... All folded, and put away.
Geesh! The hamper is completely empty. Wow!!!!....
Have to give Tina a shower later, and wash her hair. That hair washing, I hate. She uses so many things and rinse agents.
Can't wait till she gets better.
Not me! I wash my hair, with the soap I use to wash myself with. Never was fussy with all those fancy shampoos. LOL

Wrapped a lot of things up and am getting back into the groove of returning to work tomorrow.
It's been nice having 11 glorious days off.

Had to get the wife ready for her Dr. appointment this morning at 10:15.
Drive 1 hour ( DD took her ) and they had no record of the appointment.
Well.... anyway, they took her in.

I made a batch of dough to make pizza for us tonight. It's proofed and now it's in the fridge to retard it. I'll take it out around 4:00 this afternoon to let it come up to room temp.

Now, it's down to do some laundry. Just towels mostly, and her nightgowns.

I'm checking the bank account, and can't figure why there is so much money in the checking account?????? .... I thought, maybe I forgot to pay a few bills, but on the bills list for the month....I've made out and paid 95% of them.
Then,,......it hit me. Answer: Guess who is not out riding around and shopping and buying? Yup!!... The Lady that lives here. Tina Mommy.

I'm sure, once she is back on her feet, and healed....she'll be spending that extra $$$$$ one way or another. What really helps, is eating from the freezers.
All I've been buying, is bread / milk / and an occasional bread or milk. Oh, and medical stuff; like creams and medications, and only a small amount after the Union insurance bites the bulk of the Bill.

Today saw the PA and he said I will need a partial knee replacement but will leave it open for a complete replacement if the ligaments are "too spongy". I'll sign a release for both and when I wake up will find out what I got. :ermm: I'll hope for the partial as it is not as painful and a quicker rehab. I did the blood work, made an appointment for pre op physical workup, and got x-rays of both legs. I did a huge amount of walking and it was a killer. The surgery will be end of April or some time in May, whenever my name comes up on the queue. When I got home slept for an hour in the recliner, too.

We do like to spend that money, don't we :brows:. Since Tina is probably still taking it easy with lots of time on her hands, suggest to her that she watch Black and White with Kevin Costner on Netflix. I loved it! It's a couple of years old, so she may have already watched it.

That list must be unbelievably long! I'll hope for the partial too.

Two young guns came and did the power washing. Even they couldn't hold up the wand for very long and had to switch out to rest their arms. It looks fantastic. I also had a handyman out to replace three under the eaves security lights. Right now everything is is working order....that I know of. We'll see what tomorrow reveals.

I know. I can't even see my provider till April 11th for the pre-op physical. I was just thinking I'll be in pain like this for 4 more months, minimum! The past few days have felt pretty good, went out, walked around and helped out doing a few things. Yesterday the water in the knee pain kicked up again. I had a miserable night and ended up taking pain meds this morning which I don't care to do. I need to go to church tomorrow and hope to be up to it. We'll see.

I'll need to hire out some yard work soon, myself. Eventually we'll need a new lawn and don't look forward to that.

I'm thinking about getting a bicycle. It's either going to be a cruiser or a trike :D

I'm going to start watching craigslist for a used one.

Over the weekend, I planted some salmon impatiens in a pot for the patio. And while I was shopping at Lowes, I spotted a giant leaf pothos ivy. I've always wanted one, so I snatched it up for the sunroom.

I'm sitting here listening to Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, and Waylon Jennings you tubes and vevos.

RIP Hag

So sad about Merle :(. He died on his birthday. This is one of my favorites. It reminds me of my honk tonk days and rubbing belt buckles :).

I've been waiting on Lowe's to put their hanging baskets on sale, 2/$10. I got tired of waiting and bought these at ALDI, 2/$6.

The impatiens mentioned earlier:

The wreath I made for the garage door - picked up the wreath on the side of the street, neighbor was throwing it away after Christmas, so I added some spring flowers - I ain't proud :):

That's nice, and it looks great!...

I know, I've been listening to a few of Merle's songs everyday.

Here is a picture of our flowering cherry tree. It's too bad it doesn't bear fruit.

Wow! Lovely pictures, Cooksie and John!

I sat out in the backyard while listening to the Sox on the radio, mending socks and stuff, for a few hours today. Sunny, but chilly. Nothing in bloom yet.

Cooking up a storm today, too.
