Actually, I thought about naming myself that from the actor, Sherman Hemsley who starred in The Jeffersons and Amen.
 
Howdy!

I just found this site, looking for interesting places to talk about cooking.

I love to cook. I've thought about doing it professionally, but I'm afraid it would drain the enjoyment from it. But, I've also heard do what you love.

Anywoo... I've been a cooking freak from an early age. Helped my mom in the kitchen, then took over in my teens. :clap:
I've watched lots and lots of cooking shows over the years to pick up that culinary education. Weird kid, spent Saturday afternoons watching The Frugal Gourmet and repeats of Julia Child.

Don't watch as many cooking shows as I once did, but I never miss Good Eats. It has to be the best cooking show on TV right now, Alton Brown is the master at teaching all things culinary!

My user name is from the car I drive, a VW Jetta. And it is Spice Red btw. I didn't know that when I bought it, but so appro for me!

Welcome, Jetta. I have the same background in as much as I was my mother's helper in the kitchen at a very young age and stayed very interested in cooking all the way through life. Fruggy rocks. Welcome to NCT.
