Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm not much of a poster (kind of shy lurker, I guess...), but started wondering what ideas people are sharing. This thing I posted on has just got me going, I guess.
Who else is interested in BBQ (as in wood fire, not sauce) and doing funny things to food? I used to be into various kinds of yogurt--had an interesting Baltic culture that made a viscous yogurt--wild. I also used to make Japanese-style pickles--cucumber or Napa cabbage salted and pressed under the weight of a big rock. I guess I like the time lapse/umami thing when it comes to playing with food.
(I'm also kind of long-winded... sorry)
