THROW-BACK THURSDAY

..Meant to post this on Thursday, but........I'm 76 ...........

....Worked with a Little Theater Group when I was in 7th & 8th grade......

I DID A LITTLE MATH TODAY……….
I was looking at the old ads posted above showing a Gas Station in the "Good Old Days":
And the price of gas at that time…. Got me to thinking……….
In 1954, my Mother paid 18 cents for a gallon of gas………She earned 55 cents an hour at that time………..
That means she worked about 20 minutes to buy that gallon of gas.
I just paid $4.75 for a gallon of gas….. when I was still working, I made36 bucks and hour, but let’s just consider the wage of $15 an hour……….
That means that a person earning the $15 an hour is working about 18 minutes to buy that gallon of gas..
Also, in the fifties, that gallon of gas would take her about 8-10 miles....... compare that to your mileage today ! I think we’ve got no reason to be upset ………….......
