Seen any good shows or movies?

"Dream Horse" - if you didn't know it's a true story, you'd say, "Highly unlikely!". Stars the incredible Toni Collette and Damian Lewis like you've never seen him, LOL! About a group of Welsh villagers who raised a racehorse. Lots of laughs, a few tears and many heart-pounding scenes. Shot on lovely locations in Wales.

A real winner (no pun intended).

Just finished binging "Dept. Q" on Netflix. Wow! Excellent acting, a terrific but complicated plot that comes together by the end. A limited series (9 episodes).

Scottish accents, so close captions help.

Okay...this is completely different, but entertaining, all the same. Our local PUD has a camera on an Osprey nest. There are 2 little hatchlings in it right now. If you are lucky enough to catch them at feeding time, you'll see them. Otherwise, they will be under mama (or papa...not sure how that works with Osprey). Yesterday, we watched half of the 8 episode limited series, The Waterfront, on Netflix. Inspired by "true events," follows a dysfunctional family, "As their storied North Carolina fishing empire decays, the damaged Buckleys grapple to revive their imperiled maritime heritage." The scenery is beautiful with many waterfront locations. DH enjoyed it and I didn't worry that I worked on dinner as it streamed ;). We'll continue watching it, as time permits.

I've only watched the 1st episode of The Waterfront. It reminds me of Netflix other series Bloodlines. Both plots seem to be families in money trouble turning to trafficking drugs as a solution.

I've not seen Bloodlines, but your description of The Waterfront sounds about right. Bloodlines sounds like a Dick Francis book! No wait, that was Bloodline, singular...and a completely different beast. ;)
 
Ooops I made it plural. The series was Bloodline. An old one. From 2015 - 2017. Much more to it than the drug part but that was the main sub plot issue. Beautiful scenery. Set in the Keys.

I bought a new iPhone a couple months ago. As a benny for buying the phone I got 3 months of Apple TV free. A lot of good content on Apple TV. I ended up dropping Max aka HBO which was 18 dollars a month and keeping Apple TV for 9.95 a month.

One of the shows I've enjoyed is 'Ted Lasso'. Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, an American football coach who is hired by a newly divorced owner of a premier soccer team based in London. She hired him to fail, hoping the teams losing season would upset her ex husband and former owner of the team.

The show is a comedy / drama. Since it is based in England I thought you might like it Sass. It is more of a drama than a sports show.
 
Paramount TV just keeps on showing this aggravating & stupid western show Yellowstone!!!!!!! I'm so sick of this damn show Every damn time a holiday comes along, here it comes again!!! Why don't they just take it off & leave it off & don't ever show it again?!!!!! I'm so sick of it!!!!! :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
 
It's just like that True TV. They just keep on showing that utterly stupid Impractical Jokers, another stupid show that should've been banned long time ago!!!!!!!!!!! They trew away all the good shows for stupid crap!!!!! :mad: :mad: :mad::bolt:

I'm with ya Shermie. Yellowstone was good ....once. That was enough.
Impractical Jokers is a self absorbed ego show for the stars. They amuse each other an I suppose enough others watch it to keep it on the air but I can't stomach it. Stew pid.

Mobland on Paramount and Bad Sisters on Apple both have potential. I've watch two episodes of each. So far so good. Both are based in Great Britain.

Bad Monkey on Apple is entertaining. Vince Vaughn. Set in the keys.
 
Food Network is another one. it just keeps on showing those damn challenge shows day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year!!!!! I only watch a few of them. They've lost tons of great chefs because of it. And they'll never get them back!!!! Guess they don't care!!!! :eek:

I don't really watch Food Network anymore.
I prefer cooking shows on YouTube, and occasionally still watch shows on Create.

I stopped watching FN a few years ago because of their overkill of competition shows. The actual cooking show with Molly Yen…..she’s terribly annoying…..for adults. She should have a local children’s program and stay off of national TV.
I used to LOVE watching The Kitchen. Unfortunately, it’s stretched to the limit and uses Jeff Mauro as a comedic fill in, although he’s not very funny because he tries too hard. GZ always looks annoyed at what he is forced to do, especially the “Commercials” to promote an item.
Ree Drummond, well….. I do like you but I think you’re stretching your shows to the limit…..like Fonzie jumping over a shark, or adding cute new characters to get a ratings boost.

Antonia Lofasso is way overplayed in every show, as is Guy, Alex Guarnacelli (sp?) is so full of herself…..whether she is or not, she comes across to me that way. Katy and Sunny, well, they’re my favorites and should have their own “How to” shows in my opinion.

Bring back some Class, Food Network!

It IS ridiculous, the way that they just keep on doing that!! When it showed just regular shows, lie Emeril Lagasse, Rachel Ray & others, I loved it!! Now it's one of the least channels that I watch. They DO still have regular cooking shows on mornings though. :bolt:
