I've liked Ruby Tuesday's for a number of years. First off, the name is awesome. The Rolling Stones song by the same name was a fav of mine (along with the song on the flip side of the 45 if anyone remembers that).
And their food has usually been fair to great.
One of the best dishes there is New Orleans Seafood. Awesome meal.

Tonight I stopped in and decided a burger sounded good. My last burger there was not up to the usual standards from my recollection but I opted for one again tonight. What a disappointment. It seems no matter how you request the burger it comes out well done all crusted on both sides. Not sure why they even bother to ask how you want it done. It does not matter.

Next time I go there I'll be in the mood for New Orleans Seafood dinner or I won't go. That entree never disappoints.

Doc, try another Ruby's... They're right up there with my favorite places for burgers (hold the pickles and special sauce please), together with the salad bar (I ignore all the salad bar warnings). The've let me down once in a while, but 85% of the time I get some pink in the middle as requested. Also check the local food safety laws. The Food Nazis may not allow ground beef to be served below a certain temperature. If they're going to try to outlaw salt, you know ground beef has to be on their list.

I'll say the same, try another Ruby's.

I've had a few problems with them but more with the service than the way they prepare their burgers. :bonk:

I love the burgers at Ruby's. I always ask for "Pittsburgh Rare" or "Black & Blue". It's very rare burger, charred on the outside. RT's is the only place I seem to get it that way.

But when I lived in North Carolina, there was some kind of state law saying they couldn't serve ground meat less than medium-well unless they were grinding their own beef on the premises. I quit trying to order them - I just drove 15 minutes to South Carolina when I got the craving.

Yes - DEFINITELY try other Ruby's. It’s a chain, but quality differs TREMENDOUSLY from location to location. For instance, the Ruby's in Culpeper is WONDERFUL, but I'd steer clear of the Warrenton, VA, location – it’s a constant horror movie in the making!!!

Haven't visited the Warrenton, VA, location since the smoking ban went into effect, but when we did, the entire restaurant was inundated with smoke. Not only that, but the place was FILTHY. Absolutely FILTHY. The salad bar was both times down to the dregs with no replacements in sight, tables were quickly & inefficiently wiped down by surly wait staff, & there was food on the floor all over the place - frankly, our two experiences were disgusting. We visited only twice & both times the experience was the same. We'll NEVER be back to the Warrenton location again.

The Culpeper Ruby's is absolutely wonderful. It's amazing that they're connected to the same company. What's funny is that the God-Awful Warrenton location is actually NEWER than the one we have here in Culpeper - yet it's absolutely disgusting - while our Culpeper location looks like it was opened yesterday. Go figure.

Culpeper’s Ruby’s is clean, staff are friendly & efficient, & all bins of the salad bar (which contains practically everything you could possibly want on a salad & then some) are kept fresh & refilled constantly. What’s not to like?

Hubby particularly loves their turkey burgers, which aren’t the usual flat-as-a-pancake commercial type you get at most places. And I love the fact that any/all of their burgers don’t come out to you cooked to friggin death. And the salad bar – oh the salad bar. Love it. One of my favorite meals? Two “sliders” & the salad bar. Okay – not “really” healthy – lol – but semi-so & delicious.

This is definitely one of our local “go to” places for this type of food. Good food, good value, good service – what more could you want from a chain restaurant. Or any restaurant for that matter.

I think we have been to a Ruby Tuesdays just once, and that was down in Peoria. As I recall neither of us was impressed, but it wasn't bad either. Kinda expensive though.
