Red Gravy Update

Thanks for clearing the air, Roseann - you are a CLASS ACT all the way. Proud to be associated with you, even in this small way.

mama, with truely meant respect, i'm not sure why you took offense to jeeks' post because while chronologically after yours, it appeared to be directed more at keltin's objections, which were just part of a discussion between he and vb (and vb is a big girl who can and did handle every well intended albeit contrary comment by keltin).

i think your question was pretty clear, that it was just that: a question. no one thought you were stirring poop, so any comment afterwards about the name had nothing to do with you.

i think you are right, however, that introspection is important before posting, but also, maybe more important after you've read something that you take offense to. people get too touchy too quickly, imo.

as far as people leaving goes, i think there's a steady enough group of regulars that will keep this place alive until old ones come back, new ones join, and the ebb and flow of both continue.

back on topic-ish:

i happen to think red gravy, vicious or not , is a great name. it explains a lot to those who understand it, and will create buzz about it to those who are just learning of the term. after all, you don't eat the name, so if the food is what we've come to expect from vb, it'll undoubtedly be a success. :chef:

Cool. I think that will give people a better feel of your vision. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Ordered the POS system yesterday. This family has been in business for a hundred years - (love to know what this guy's grandfather would think of the new fangled cash registers of today) I've never seen anything so easy!! Gotta be why it came with a price tag more than my new 6 burner range!!

All you have to do is touch the screen - a menu comes up on the right with words like Breakfast, Soup, Salad, Sandwich, Dessert, Drink, etc. Touch Breakfast, and another page opens with all my basic offerings (the Nancy, for instance, is a breakfast sandwich with eggs, sliced meatballs, mozzarella) Then, touch Nancy (who'd love it, by the way...) and all the basic components of the sandwich come up: all the types of bread that are available, the way the eggs could be cooked, meatball, mozzarella cheese. Then there are 'buttons' you can touch on the screen to make alterations such as no mozzarella, or extra egg, etc. All this is then printed to a printer in the prep area that tells the staff member exactly how to prepare the sandwich.

I'm not very computer savy (which is why I have to pay someone to lay out my menu for me) but I have a feeling even I will be able to handle this.

It will also link to ADP, so I can use the POS as a time clock. I can even have it read thumbprints for security reasons.

That sounds way kewl Vera!!!!! :thumb:
The Nancy also sounds scrumptious! I would love to try one sometime!!! :thumb: :D
