Random Picture Thread - Part Deux

I lust for a phone with a decent camera; that is my latest "obsession" with photography...
It used to be my hobby, back in college. My digital camera is a big dinosaur.. it can use a 3.5 inch floppy disk or memory sticks, LOL.. so I don't carry it around much. Besides, its a work camera.

Here are a few taken with my mediocre phone cam....
Dunno how that flower picture came out so crisp!
The black dog is Nemo Defender Dog; the cat is my 20 pound Catdog Baxter.
White dog is Nellie Buttersnout.
That cutiepie is my newly minted Phd of a wife... I have aspirations of becoming a kept man when she gets the big bucks job, LOL!

Sometimes it's just holding your mouth right . I love to see everyone's pics. Thanks for sharing.

Great new pictures, posted!!

Love the Japanese maple (?), HC!

Kimchee, good to see a glimpse into your life! Could you post more pictures of BAXTER?????

Interesting shot, HC.

Is the bus really blue, or did you change the color?

Lee

Nice shot! If you had aimed just a smidge higher, you would have gotten more of that interesting light/dark contrast in the sky, which I think is really cool. I'm not criticizing, I'm just sayin'.

These should serve to sufficiently embarrass the wife (LOL):

Below is the original photo. HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos are created from 3 photos with different exposures. You can Google some tutorials. Once you have the RAW images you open them in a program to create the HDR photo. I use Photomatix. It's a free download but the demo leaves a watermark. I always had my camera set to create jpegs until I found that if you shoot RAW images you can easily fix the image later.

I just watched some of the you tube before and after videos, and the difference is just amazing.

I'm obviously still learning the process, but it makes a nice effect. The bus was just for practice, I thought it would be a good subject with the colors, rust and crap.

Very cool, HC!

The altered image is far more interesting than the original!

Here's a pic of a sympathy/food basket that I made for a friend today. Now that I see it in a pic, I wish that I would have pulled a little of the cellophane out around the edges. Oh well, she'll like it anyway. Lots of goodies that I realllllyyyy wanted to take a bite out of :brows:

Lovely pansies, Cooksie!

Do you plant them in the ground or containers?

Lee

I love this thread - so glad that Cooksie bumped it up!

I'll add a couple of random shots of a few of my favorite things.

Anyone else?

If I were a religious person, I might say that the Glory of God is in the center of that Morning Glory! :flowers:

Beautiful, QSis. It's like there's a tiny little light bulb in the center of the flower.

Took my boys down the bus stop this morning. It rained overnight, and the sun hadn't hit the ground yet (we live in an early-morning shadow zone behind a hill). I started seeing nightcrawlers EVERYWHERE! Logan helped me pick some up, Ronnie wouldn't touch them. The two neighbor girls would spot them for us, but wouldn't touch them.

Here's my haul:

20100407earthworms.jpg

Don't know how many I got. I grabbed a container, and some leaves and compost, dumped them all into the container, and stuck it in the fridge. Free fishing bait!

Boil them, changing the water couple three times, then spread on a cookie sheet and bake till dried and crunchy...
Kinda like bacon bits.

(At least that's what we decided back in Boy Scouts on the Survival Camping trip...)
