Random Chat

Look, I am sure we all appreciate your enthusiasm, and wanting to "just jump right in" to everything, but, like somethings in life, sometimes the best thing to do is just sit back, observe, take things in, and learn the "flow" of a place/situation.

The General Chit Chat forum, I would guess is the proper avenue, you simply have to make a thread asking about the detailed specifics you are looking for, like you implied you were going to do. . not just another "Random, Conversation thread". . .

Also, we know who Micheal Jackson is. I am sure there are tribes people in the deepest darkest rain forest of Papua New Guinea that know who M.J. is. . .

Again, your youthful energy is admirable, but seriously, just take a seat, and relax. Take a second to take stuff in, take a second to see/learn how things work.

Not trying to be a dick, but damn man, just chill out, ok? There are a LOT of knowledgeable people here that would be willing to help answer any questions you may have, but just slow your roll a bit.

Also, the whole .www is FULL of cooking and advise related forums, and even places geared more towards teens/pre-teens, and offer perhaps a younger, more youthful feel as the populations that visit those place, are more your age.

At your age, you have a LOT to think about if you are here to learn about being in the industry, and honestly, if it were to be put into a movie, you wouldn't be able to hear a lot of the proper advice without a parent, or legal guardian, as it is NOT "PG". There is nothing wrong with having a direction, and wanting to go for the gold, but again, sit back and learn how things work, learn the dynamic of a place. It will help you in a lot of scenarios.

ok and also with the pre-teens teens site i hate people my age a prefer older people to talk to

Boy, that just pulled at my heart strings. :/
It really did.. but like Ralph said.. just chill and take the time to look around the forums.
Don't feel like you must jump in every single thread with a random comment.
That's the stuff that keeps honest to goodness members from coming on a forum like this.

That and starting random threads that make no sense whatsoever to anyone else other than yourself.

Of course, certainly you aren't the only one who does that.

also teens are conseded and bully me alot

What are your hobbies? What do you, and your friends like to do?

Remember, the kids that want to bully you, and are conceded, are that way because of their own insecurities. It's all a front, a guise, a ruse. Don't let the actions of those few individuals keep you from engaging in relationships with like minded young adults your age.

Sorry, but as a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu (Boston, kiddo, not Paris for crying out loud!) I've gotta wonder if a fella who doesn't even know how to poach an egg could even make the cut? Don't make a mockery of a wonderful profession! As to hating kids your own age - do they love you? Does it occur to you that "older people" prefer the company of people their own age? About "older" people, you've simply got to learn how to talk respectfully to them.....for example, you just don't refer to a man who flew fighters in a time before you were even born....an officer and a gentleman, you just don't call that person "Dude"! You've a lot to learn!

Lesson #1, boyo....you just can't "make" people like and accept you.
Lesson #2, don't try.

Sorry, but as a graduate of Le Cordon Beu (Boston, kiddo, not Paris for crying out loud!)

I would certainly push any kid, that is as young, to consider a domestic campus as well. . . Paris is a long way out for a student, with no income, parents footing the bill, and in a day where scholarships are getting fewer and fewer, Le Cordon Bleu in Boston is a MUCH more viable option that any of the Campuses in the EU. . . especially since the curriculum is the same.

ok sorry i'll refrain from calling people dude and thats why i read cook books and ask questions here and thats why i wanna go to le cordon bleu

It doesn't have to just be a dream...if you're really serious about it, write to Le Cordon Bleu, Boston for information. The cirriculum is pretty much the same in all the branches of that school and I don't know if the tuition is the same everywhere.....in Boston it's around $30,000 for the entire coarse but they do offer student financial aide for which one can always apply. The classroom studies are approximately 2 years in length and are open to everyone...you don't need to be a super cook to get in (I certainly wasn't and still have much, much to learn!) You can even major in a specific area of cooking such as baking or things like that. You'd love it, I suspect, and if you're serious about learning you'd probably be pretty good at it, too. Just don't make the mistake of knowing more than your instructor.

Ian

Just as a matter of interest, there are Le Cordon Bleu school branches in various areas all over the country and I'm sure you could find one a lot closer to Nevada than Boston, MA. Ask 'em.

i would rather go to the 1st le cordon bleu and i would love to go to the school were the legendary chef Julia Child was taught

Who wouldn't? But the best rule of thumb for regular life is to reach for the moon but settle for what's obtainable and a whole lot closer. Also keep in mind that in reaching for the moon you're apt to encounter the sun and get burned. Julia Child, incidently, also learned at the Boston School and the current campus in Cambridge is located on the site of the home in which she lived (or vice-versa, if you prefer). She is certainly revered in the area................

As a 15yo, I certainly can understand your "would rather" attitude, but maybe when you get older, more budget minded, and think about things more from the stance of "what is possible/feasible" v. "I would rather" stance, you may want to reconsider. Not to mention, there is an industry FULL of equally great, amazing Chefs that didn't attend Le Cordon Bleu, in Paris. . . hell, there is an amazing amount of world-class, fantastically amazing Chefs that didn't go to ANY school.

You are too young to hold an elitist attitude, especially towards something that realistically, you know very little about at this point.
