  2. Spammers will be banned. New Members are prohibited from posting links until they have posted a minimum of 10 posts interacting with our members. Post saying "I like that" or "Me to" are not considered interacting and will not get a new member credit towards the 10 required posts. Any link posted prior to the 10 required posts will result in the new member being banned as a spammer and all posts being removed. Advertising can be purchased. Posting links to businesses is prohibited no matter how many posts you have and will get you banned.
  3. Personal attacks and flames targeted toward other members, moderators, or anyone visiting the forum are NOT TOLERATED. Forum Etiquette
In addition to the above rules, NetCookingTalk.com members need to read and abide by the following:

  1. Usernames and User Titles offensive in nature will not be tolerated. Offensive or questionable User Titles will be deleted without warning.
  2. Deleting Accounts User Accounts are never deleted. Once set up accounts are part of the NCT database, we do not delete parts of the database. Period.
  3. Deleting Posts All members have 60 minutes after hitting the submit post button in which they are allowed to edit, modify or delete the post they just made. After that initial 60 minutes the post is a permanent part of the Net Cooking Talk database. Neither posts nor pictures will be removed at the users request. We require that you THINK BEFORE YOU POST. Posting when you are angry is never a good idea; please, please resist the urge to post when you are upset. Nothing good ever comes from these types of posts.
  4. Account signatures should be no more than five lines long. Signatures exceeding 5 lines will be deleted. No member can have a link in their signature until their postcount is 25 or greater and provide a reciprocal link to Net Cooking Talk. Of the 25 posts the majority must be posts with real content, not simply LOL or I agree.
  5. The General Forums are rated NC-17 regarding language and conduct and the following topics are forbidden on these forums: Sex, Religion, and Politics. Members are responsible for not participating in discussions of this nature, nor starting threads of this nature. For those that wish to partake in more adult conversations, we have provided a forum entitled 'Back Room' that is Rated R. You must join via your user CP to view it.
  6. Members are responsible for their personal etiquette and behavior on the board. If you see a post you believe is in violation of the rules it is your responsibility to report it, not respond to it. Members who encounter content that they feel is objectionable, in violation, or inflammatory are expected to leave the thread without making any post that may also be inflammatory, in violation, or objectionable. In short, two wrongs do not make a right. Please, do us all a favor and simply click the 'Report Post' button rather than replying to an offending post.
  7. Goodbye threads Goodbye threads are threads that some members will post saying they are leaving the forums. To often goodbye threads go negative. While we will allow anyone to post a goodbye thread it will be closed as soon as anyone on the NCT staff sees it. This is intended to encourage members to PM the user if they want more info
If you see a post that you think might be breaking the rules please use the Report Post button to notify the staff.

Unfortunately these days, new members are almost always spammers or folks just trying to get clicks on their you tube and tik tok channels. I’m suspicious of anyone new that joins. (Especially when they claim to be 27 and dig up old posts to say ‘WOW’.

Have you noticed the new way they try to get past the mods? Two or three of them all join about the same time. Then they make the round robin commenting on each others’ inane posts. They hit all 3 of the remaining forums at once, using different names, but posting the same stuff. They have whole conversations with themselves. They wait out the minimum for posting links.

Forumns like this are becoming a thing of the past. Even Facebook is primarily older folks like us and paid advertisers. The active younger people interact differently. They like ‘followers’ like you get on instagram, tik tok, and you tube.

Sad but true. It truly makes it rough on new members who are not spammers.
