My Rice Cooker Broke!!!

It's so nice to have simple little pleasures in life!! I know where the broccoli is going to be steamed to go with dinner!!

Very nice!

Yours has a STAINLESS STEEL steamer basket. I'm jealous! Hah!!

Most of Cuisinart's small appliances have that very distinctive square look!

Looks like they all seem to have that little round button thingy at the bottom center of the cooking chamber. The bowl sits on that and resets the cooker, but only when the bowl is put in for cooking rice or steaming veggies & seafood. :)
Don't let that stainless steel fool ya!
It's a Low Grade Stainless and has a few rust stains starting already.
The machine was used maybe 9 times in all.
The outside I know is a fake stainless. LOL

Hey, as long as it works is all that matters.

Then I don't feel so jealous, since mine is plastic and yours is low grade. Hah!! Now that you mentioned it, I DO see a bit of rust on the basket's rim! But like you said, as long as it works is all that matters.

Guess the old saying IS true. You get what you pay for. Just about ALL small appliances are made in China, or in other countries.

And it is sad for two things; One is that young children work for them, which is sad!! The other is that the products are made so cheap & flimsy that some of them don't seem to last long at all!! :yuk:

Years back, around the early '80s, Black & Decker had bought out General Electric's small appliances division.

Which is why you don't see GE's name on small appliances now.

I just looked at the ID label on the bottom of the cooker and found out that it IS made in China!

Zojirushi units are made in Japan.

Just a brief update to let everyone know that my B&D Rice Cooker is STILL turning out perfectly cooked rice!!

Must have used it about 12 times now, and its performance is very good!! Used it again tonight!!

I normally make 4 cups of rice in the new rice cooker.

Just now, I kicked it up a few notches by making 8 cups of rice. It came to about 2/3 the way up! Wonder what would happen if one day, I decide to double that amount.

Looks like it's max is less than 16 cups, but not sure. In any case, I still like the cooker! Even if it DOESN'T make up to 16 cups. :tiphat:

Just an update;

My new B&D rice cooker is STILL doing its job as it should!! I'm quite a happy camper with it!! :tiphat:
