Just finished watching and reading PILLARS OF THE EARTH. Book was great...Movie OK but I hate it when they make the movie different from the book.

Well, Resident Evil: Afterlife pretty much sucked. Did Uwe Bowle collaborate on this one???

Dumb story, dumb everything.

The biggest dumb was 3D. This movie was supposed to be 3d (I watched it in 2D). “3D” is about the dumbest thing that has ever happened to TV. It’s gimmicky, and worthy of Ron Popeil. He should be hawking this crap.

First of all TV IS 3D.

2D images simply don’t exist. If you have a character or item in the foreground, and you can see something in the background and thus perceive depth, that is 3D. 2D only exists these days in side-scrolling video games.

And “3D” for movies is a DUMB gimmick. You can so see it coming a mile away. It’s like a very bad porno where the money shot has to be placed every few minutes. OMG, we’re gonna die, we have to reach the shelter…..STOP…….throw a BIC lighter in slow motion at the screen for the 3D effect……Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 3D effect Money Shot!!..............now back to the story. I so HATE those idiotic 3D breaks these mentally deficient movies use. It’s stupid. The idea of 3D TV is stupid.

Just drop the Ron Popeil seen on TV gimmicks and let’s PLEASE get back to REAL film making already.

3D is like the FLU that started back in the 70’s. One iteration comes out and dies every year, and then next year, a new and more obnoxiously evil version sprouts. When will it finally DIE! It didn’t work in the 70’s (when we got our 3D glasses and booster UHF antenna loops from the local convenience store), or the 80’s, or the 90’s, or the 00’s…….take a hint! 3D blows! Leave it to die and move on already.

Ugh…..I’m moving on to the next movie: The Dark Lurking. It has the same look and feel as the Alien series, so I’m hoping I’ll like it even if it is B.
 
I am watching Manhunter (1986 William Peterson). I think it is better than the remake with Hopkins and Norton.

Yea, The Rock is awesome! I watched Hard Candy on IFC last night. It's good - the acting was fantastic, but sheesh - the subject matter was intense!!
 
Just caught this trailer - have got to see this!!! Zach Galifinakis is hillarious and Robert Downey Jr. is awesome!
