Mediterranean Pizza help

Okay, I've decided to make a pizza with my first box of frozen artichoke hearts, some kalamata olives that I have, and feta cheese. Maybe some diced fresh tomatoes, too.

Do you think I need any kind of sauce? Tomato sauce doesn't seem right. Just olive oil?

Also, I'm a fan of some sort of meat with my dinners, but can't think of anything besides lamb that would stay in a Mediterranean theme.

Any ideas on that?

Lee

Hmmmm. I don't think you need any sauce at all. Not being a fan of lamb, I'd probably use some prosciutto or parma ham if I wanted meat. Sounds yummy. You go, Lee. Take a picture!

A grilled & thinly sliced chicken breast w/ pesto is another way to go. I would probably use the oil & tomatoes w/ some Italian seasoning or Oregano, if you have it.

This isn't mine. I cleaned out my pic file & deleted bunchs of pics. Even tho mine looked like this one.

I just used garlic & O.O. spinach. tomatoes, feta, artichokes, lots of black O.whole wheat crust.

I fully agree on that. I just use store bought basil pesto for the sauce(Classico, I think).

Thanks to Carolina Cooking's suggestion on how to use my box of frozen artichoke hearts, I finally made this pizza tonight!

I used suggestions of others, too: the whole wheat pizza dough (delish!), pesto sauce on top of the dough, tomatoes, feta, kalamata olives, olive oil and the artichokes.

Served to three of my friends with a choice of hot pepper flakes and/or Frank's hot sauce.

Not a crumb left.

One of my friends has COPD and hadn't eaten all day, because he wasn't feeling well. A meat and potatoes guy. He ate three pieces! LOL!

Thank you all!!!

Lee

:applause::wow: that looks so good. great pizza.

I made one myself last night, sadly no homemade crust  I used 'wrap' . they do make a good low carb pizza. I thought it wouldn't be filling or a cheap substitute, however its pretty darn good..
