Grilling Naked Corn on the cob

OK, here's my stab at Naked Corn:

This is now my go to method for grilling corn. The charred kernels had a certain sweetness that I just don't get when I do it in the husk.

Here's the recipe for the butter and step by step, picture by picture of the corn preparation.

And of course the salivation pictures:

Those grilled corns remind me of the street venders in Japan. That's how they do them.
Reminds me of attending the Big Green Gathering, a hippy fest if you will whilst living across the pond in England. Bristol it was.
There was a vendor, south African- making corn in this fashion and buttering it up with herbs and spices.. served on paper plates.
I know it tasted fab, but my biggest memory of the event was being awaken to the sound of a didgeridoo at dawn and having a hang over from eating ummm "fairy cake":yum:

Sounds like fun!

Sounds like fun!
It was quite the love-in.
Steve and I slept in a tee pee for 2 days with the coolest people you could ever imagine. We attended workshops on the environment, sex, music.. and there were the most wonderful vegan/vegetarian foods prepared by people from all over Europe attending.
Funny how something as simple as grilled corn can bring back such wonderful memories.

That sounds lovely, Sass. Sounds like freedom and love and all the good stuff in life! Smells do that for me. I can smell something and instantly get taken back to a certain memory or place.

Doc, I have that same Weber Q in Florida. I love that grill.
Funny you mention that Buzz. I actually bought this particular grill because you had raved about yours and it did not have much on it to rust so being around water was not a problem.

I forgot I put all the houseboat pics in this thread. makes me miss her. We sold it in 2013. Was fun but expensive to maintain.

Johnny West ...I bumped this thread for you dude. :thumb:

Thanks Doc! I'll have to give the buttered corn a try. I don't have a gas grill so will be careful with the butter. My fires can get darn hot with wood and charcoal.

I got some pork to grill and will grill the corn tonight; can't wait.

I also have some Bull's Eye Guinness BBQ Sauce to try as well. :thumb:
