Dinner Thursday 17 Sep 09

gonna grocery shop this morning, I'll probably decide there.

I wish summer would go away I really want to give my oven a workout and make some winter food!!!

shell steaks on sale so that will probably be dinner with baked potato and mixed veggies. hub suggested breakfast for dinner. i got my poach pods yesterday so maybe steak, poached eggs (or if someone wants fried they only take about a minute), homefries and biscuits.

i have no idea yet. not sure what dw has in the fridge upstairs. i'll be home early and dw's going to the gym, so i wouldn't doubt if we're grilling.

if early enough, my boy and i will go to the park for a bike ride after dinner, in order to avoid all of the cars blocking the sidewalks. :glare:

Pan fried ham steak with a golden french fried onion gravy, cheese and chive mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts.
Pics later.

My boys want chicken & veg pie - which will do with a mash topping rather than pastry as I aint got any and I am not going shopping again.

If you go to our park it's across the street and you can avoid our driveway~

Now you're talking, Sass!
I'm going to eat those other two chicken fried pork loins I had left over. I'm not sure if the gravy will go on mashed or fries yet.

Mmmmmm, that sounds lovely! It will be a western omelette and hash browns for us tonight

hmmm, that's sort of a cumberland or shepards pie. what do you call someone who cares for chickens?

I get it at Central Market, Which is comparable to Whole Foods seen on Top chef. They also make a good Cashew chicken with bluecheese. I usually make corn fritters with them but I want something different for a change.

Oven roasted western ribs slow cooked till they fell off the bones. Smashed taters, pan gravy and sweet corn that I took off the cob & froze when it was plentiful and cheap.

I was wondering the same thing - there doesn't seem to be a term.

Anyway here it is:

It tasted gooooood. The first of our corn too.

How about some pan fried potatoes and onions or a frittata.

Looks great Joe and Miniman!

We're having leftover roast with mashed potatoes and gravy.

:applause: You should be proud. That looks great! Let's hear more about that gravy :brows:.

The gravy? all it is, is Campbells cream of onion soup, with french fried onions, a little Tony Chachere's creole seasoning.
Only add 1/4 c water to the entire can of soup.

Mmm, sounds like a great combo. I love those french fried onions and Tony Chachere's.

I'm not a brussels sprouts eater, Sass, but I could make an exception
That looks good. Love the gravy, too. I used to use those FF onions in a fish breading. I'd forgotten all about them. Good stuff.

Here's my leftover chicken fried pork loins with fries and gravy. Everything leftover from the other night but the fries. I also oven roasted three ears of corn. More on that later...

I grabbed the fattest ear for a photo op. The corn here is getting skimpy already.
But wait. What the H is that, right there towards the bottom? It fell out as I was husking...

Here it is!

Ackkk! Bear Grills I aint. He can drink his own piss and eat bugs all he wants... And that's why there are only two ears on my plate. Makes me wonder about all the times I husked the corn out by the grill in a lot poorer lighting...

And just to say, the pics are not working for me again. At least not in preview, so I hope they are in order. Crap.
