Dinner thread Sunday, Nov. 23 - Saturday, Nov. 30

Black Friday lunch buffet @ The Barn restaurant.
It's packed in here.
Smoked pulled turkey, ham, stuffing (omg good!) green bean casserole, mash n gravy.

Thanksgiving dinner plate outside left edge homemade cranberry/orange relish (uncooked), homemade whole berry cranberry/orange sauce (cooked).
Brussels sprouts, stuffing, mashed sweet potato, whipped yellow potatoes with chives and gravy, green bean casserole, turkey and gravy, creamed pearl onions. Biscuit on the side.
Sparkling Apple, Cranberry cider (non-alcohol).

The mother of the man who lives in the townhouse between Kathy and me owns an Italian restaurant right around the corner. Many people like the place, but three friends and I had a bad experience several years ago - all four of our meals were served over an hour later, all were cold and tasted like canned sauce We told the owner (neighbor's mother) and she did nothing, no apology, just said, "I wish there was something I could do" (What?!) None of us have ever been back

Anyway, tonight our neighbor brought some leftover food from his mother over to Kathy. Kathy didn't want the giant stuffed artichoke so she gave it to me, with one stuffed mushroom. I figured, what the heck.

Uck. Dry bread crumbs (even after I drizzled a good amount of EVOO on it), almost no seasoning. I left almost all the stuffing, had hardly any flesh on the leaves. Disgraceful. The heart was good. The one stuffed mushroom was gross, fishy-tasting - I tossed it. :sick:

So, I'm sorry to be so uncharitable, looking a gift artichoke in the mouth, but I'm really annoyed with this restaurant that so many people rave about.

And .... our office party is being held there in a couple of weeks. :evil:

Not sure if you meant the plate itself or the plate of food. Thank you again.

Here's a picture of the empty plate. I got these some years back from Cracker Barrel. I thought they were nice. I only wish I had seen them sooner because there were no other pieces available. Just the dinner plates and a turkey platter.
