Dill Pickles

I believe I have her recipe in my pickle file.
My problem was I used a grape leaf
and no CaCl. I learned my lesson. I’m
not going to make anymore this year as
I have seven jars and I’m the only one
eating them.

The Mrs decided to make her great grandmother’s lime pickle recipe and says it’s the last time she will do this. She cut up 2.5 gallons of pickles, limed them 24 hours, and is now doing four fresh water rinses, an hour each.

And we have four boxes of tomatoes to can and I‘m leaving for Iowa Thur morning. 🙄

It looks like I wont be making my dill pickles again this year.

While I was gone yesterday Nancy canned her sweet pickles and said they were the best she ever made due to good quality cucumbers. This is a recipe from her great grandmother, born in Sweden.

The garlic in my pickle jar turned blue/green. Says that's just fine. It's due to chemical reaction. Never happened before.
