It's funny... almost everyone "snipes" the auction, bidding in the last minute.
BUT.... to win, you HAVE TO BID THE ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM you are willing to pay.
Because, if you don't, you won't have time to bid again.
As a seller, I used to hate all the last minute bidding, but over the years, I have
found that I actually end up making MORE MONEY.. because people bid just a bit more
on average at the last second than they would if they were bidding multiple times.
So.. thank you auction psychology!
Now, everyone go google the words ebay and snipe or sniping...
There are companies and programs that will place your bid automatically in
the last seconds of the auction, so you don't have to be at the computer.
esnipe.com is one.. not an endorsement, although I have used them in the past.
(It was fun back in the day, when the last HOUR of an auction was great fun to
watch... bid.. bid.. bid... bid.bid.bid...bid...SOLD!)
