Any New Years' Resolutions?

LOL - I hear you, Joe!

My resolution is to become more active in volunteering. I used to volunteer regularly at our local homeless shelter, but after Fisher was born - it was hard to find someone to care for him while I did that. He's old enough now to go with me and to begin service to the community himself. I am very fortunate and it's time for me to get back into sharing my good fortune by giving my time and effort.

Making it through another year.

Yup! I also need to clean my cats litter box every day! I need to stay in shape and try to eat more meat and less carbs!
Which leads me to waxing. If I wax my rear, do you think I would look like a phoney? Or is that respectable where a chick would say... "he cares about how he looks. Im glad he waxed his ass". OR would it be..... "ewwww. He waxed his ass! He should have just left it the way it was"!

:yum:Um, waxing your ass?? What, you trying to go faster or something?

Let's see, I think I will second Joe and say just live thru another year...

...but the wife is ordering me to say quit smoking.

The wife ordering doesn't work even when they but the stuff to help you. I know this first hand as last time I quite about 2 days in she bought me a carton of cigarettes and the kids got me a new zippo (not like I need another since I have over a 100 of them). The decided they would rather see me die early than them.

:yum::yum: love it!

I used to have a sign on my desk when I worked for Dade County Public Schools that said the following: " SURGEON'S GENERAL'S WARING, My not smoking could be hazardous to your health."

I appologize. Not sure what came over me.... probably the huge amount of coffee. I know this is a bit more family-centric than FF.
Alas I really want joking. BUUUUT I should have never mentioned it. :puke1:

Sorry if I grossed anyone out.

......but the wife is ordering me to say quit smoking.

I hadn't planned on quitting, but may have to. I've been ordering my cigs on-line (from out of state), for about $20 a carton. Congress is looking at some Bill that will make it illegal to mail cig/tobacco products. When I saw a carton sells for about $65, when I did my on-line grocery shopping, I couldn't believe my eyes.

I bought something called an e cigarette (electronic cigarette) on ebay. You can recharge it, & it emits mist -- not smoke. Check it out in a google, if you wish.

This is the email I received re the Pact act:

URGENT INFORMATION!
The Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act of 2009 ("PACT Act") (S.1147), which is currently before the Senate Judiciary Committee, contains a provision which would make ALL cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products nonmailable.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will not meet this week, but is meeting the week of November 16th. It now appears that the Senate Judiciary Committee will likely approve the PACT Act at its Executive Business Meeting on November 19th. Once the PACT Act is approved by the Judiciary Committee, the Bill will move to the Senate floor where it could be voted on at any time.
Phillip Morris USA will do everything within its power to see that this Bill is passed before the end of this year.
At this point, we need to slow the Bill up and get it pushed into the Second Session of this Congress. With the mid-term elections taking place in 2010, it will get a little tougher to pass the PACT Act because of the distraction cause by campaigning.
If you wish to preserve your rights and freedoms, you have to make your opinion known and your voice heard. Contact your Senators today and tell them to vote NO on S.1147, the "PACT Act"!
HOW TO CONTACT YOUR SENATOR BY TELEPHONE:
You can dial your Senators office using 1-800-828-0498 to be connected with a Capitol Switchboard Operator. Simply ask the Operator to connect you with your Senators Office. When you contact your Senator you do not need to identify yourself as a smoker or as someone who purchases cigarettes and/or smokeless tobacco products by mail-order, telephone-order, and/or the Internet. You only need to identify yourself as a resident of the state they represent.
Time is crucial at this point, so a phone call is by far the best choice for contacting your Senators.

I am/was the same way. I ordered my cigs from the Ukraine for about $15 a carton, no taxes. The only restriction was that you could only import so many a month without encountering duties and what-not, so you had to space it out so you ordered once every 30 days, max 6 cartons at a time.
I also got the e-cigarette, from Smokers Savior. Rechargeable, glows at the end, and emits mist. The only thing is you have to buy the 'filters' to get the mist and tobacco flavor. Once it looses flavor and stops emitting the mist, you put a new filter on and it is good to go. The filters will cost me about the same as the 6 cartons of cigs and last about the same amount of time.

Uh, hey, if yer not using that sign anymore, I think I could find a good use for it...:whistling:

The aches and pains are healing up from racing so I'll be back working out. I was doing Real good this year up until around March when I blew my knee out getting out of my van. So I'll start up again.

ummmmmmmmmmmm are you going to wax your own ass or is someone else getting the honor? just curious if someone else is doing the waxing -what that persons New Years' Resolution is.

I'm going to get back into yoga and hopefully that will encourage me to be more calm and patient. My job became extremely stressful this past year and it doesn't look as if that will change; my health became more challenging, too, and that's not getting any better. So I need to learn and practice better ways of dealing with the constant stress.

LOL lily you said it way better so you'll probably succeed more than I....

I was going to say I will be more tolerant of stupid people..
:)

Oh and not be such a good facebooker.....

My resolution is to clean out and organize the area where I keep my pots and pans. Hubby got aggravated last night trying to get things in the tupperware drawer (which is full to the gills), so he organized/cleaned it out. I'll do the pots/pans, and then I'm also going to go through my clothes and donate what I haven't worn is years.

To rid my home of all un-wanted and un-needed items that have somehow been making it's way in the door for the past several years.

My new years resolution is the same as it is every year....to quit making new years resolutions..I have no will power so by not resolving I never fail...lol

Here's a :bump: just to see what was said last year.--I still haven't done last year's resolution.

Lol at Sushi!
