What's For Dinner Sunday December 22 - Saturday December 28th 2024

We had no plans to do anything. As late as 11:00 on Christmas morning, I was still debating whether to have leftovers or find someplace to go out. It just wasn't feeling like a holiday. But I went freezer diving, and found 2 big beautiful duck breasts and then some parsnips in the fridge, so that became dinner. It seems I usually alternate between duck and beef Wellington for Christmas. So glad I changed my mind!

Duck with Port wine and dried cherry gastrique over pureed parsnips.

I had two of Jules' soft gingerbread cookies, and an Italian wedding cookie.

I brought home a beautiful ham and cheese sandwich on a brioche bun to have for dinner with a salad.

Did not touch the cheese stuffed ravioli or the chicken and cheese dip. Lol

I would have been all over the chicken and cheese dip, only that.

Tonight was supposed to be chicken Florentine but she got pork sirloin roast out by mistake. It was excellent. The potatoes were a Finnish recipe and quite good.
