I need help! I mentioned that I got a new airfryer. So far, all I've done is use it to reheat leftover fried potatoes, sweet potato fries, and pizza.

Until tonight. I had 2 small, (6 oz) but very thick boneless pork loin chops. I put a honey Chipotle rub on them, and checked after about 11 or 12 minutes. They were only at 116F. So I tried 5 more minutes, but at a lower heat, and they were 175F. Way dry and overcooked.

I've seen some off you do chops in your airfryer. What time and temp would you use to get to about 140F?

Kathy, the ones I've made were pretty thick.
I did mine at 400 for 7 minutes per side, then left them in the air fryer for about 5 minutes after I had shut it off, while prepping the sides.

Oh yeah, I always preheat the air fryer for about 5 minutes.
I know people who don't.

That fits in exactly with the chart John posted above - 400 for 12 to 14 minutes.

Will your air fryer work with a probe thermometer in the meat?

Me?
I've never thought about that, and I don't even own a probe thermometer lol

LOL, sorry, I was asking Kathy about the thermometer.

BTW, Lora, you might want to ask for a probe thermometer for Christmas. And/or a Thermopen.

I have 3 probe thermometers. One attaches to my oven; one to my steam oven; and one to my grill. I don't have one that stands alone.

Looking at it, I don't think it would close. If it doesn't close, it doesn't run. There's some kind of safety switch. But that's a great idea.

Does that leave them pink in the middle, or we'll done?

My air fryer doesn’t have a preheat setting. How do you preheat one?

Next time I use mine, I’ll see what I can finagle lol
Just about everything I've made in mine, I've used 400° setting.
Just turn the power dial switch on for 5 minutes, that preheats it.
My air fryer isn't a fancy schmancy high dollar model. My son bought it for me as a gift, for basic cooking for one.
