My mother used to make this! No rehydrated mushrooms though...and she used garlic powder over fresh garlic. It was still so good. We had it with mashed potatoes.
I posted this in the dinner thread, but stuffed peppers, green beans with shellies, and roasted acorn squash were often on the menu at my grandmother's home in the summertime.
Stuffed peppers, mashed potatoes, roasted acorn squash, and string beans. All but the potatoes, bacon in the beans, and rice were grown in the garden! I am sometimes (often) a child who cannot stand for my food to touch. :whistling:
For some reason, Subway has stopped setting well with me. I have their luncheon meat and end up six. At first, I thought it was just the luck of the draw, but I have come to decide that it is due to a change in their food. I don't agree with BWW. I've not been to the others in a pretty long...

I am drowning in peppers. Tomorrow, I definitely need to do something with peppers.
Oh, I discovered the answer to my question of why I did not have more cherry tomatoes:
Leftovers from last night (pictured.) I found some rosemary-herb crusted pork medallions at Costco, which we grilled. Garden-fresh green beans and melted garlic-butter roasted potatoes as sides. Cherries for dessert.
I made chicken, mushroom and noodles with a side of steamed broccoli for lunch today. The fella does not eat "green" if it is cooked with very few exceptions, but the broccoli paired very well imho. This was easy as I started with a Costco rotisserie chicken.
