What's cooking Thursday September 24, 2009?

Great minds think alike Suz. After seeing Keltins cornish hen pics yesterday, I decided on roast chicken too...it's been marinating since last night. I think it's going to be dirty rice and broccoli for the sides...although mashed taters and gravy sounds good too.

lol i made gravy w pot roast the other night, maybe i should swap sides with you and skip the gravy this time! :)

If I go bowling it will be bar food and beer!

If I stay home, probably just beer.........who knows. lol

Ok, I talked myself out of gravy.... I'll be good....
Roast Chicken
brown rice pilaf w/ toasted pecans and dried cranberries
asparagus if it looks good in the store today, if not, garlic roasted cauliflower

but I'm still makin' an apple pie :)

Pulled a couple of steaks out of the freezer for dinner tonight. Don't know what I'll serve with it yet.

if dw takes my boy to karate, i'll either be picking up sushi or italian.

if not, i'm probably grilling hot italian sausage and chicken.

A slight change in the menu. Roast Chicken, dirty rice, mustard greens, handleless corn on the cob and cornbread.

lol... "handleless"

Nice Mama. Everything a growing boy like me needs ;^)

Thanks Chow! I thought of you when I bought the corn..:respect:

Mama that chicken looks divine! Yummmmmmmm

Thanks Rickismom! It turned out really well. DH really liked it too. He asked me if I went to Sam's (he thought it was one of their rotisserie chickens)

Tender and juicy:

After hoisting crab pots on the ocean today . . .dungness crab and sweet corn from the garden VMG = very messy grin

You can ship me some of those dungness crabs guy. I haven't had it since the last time I was in Washington at my son's home. That has been at least 15 years ago.

Well that is the ultimate compliment. It does look very good. I would go and get a chicken out, but tomorrow is already planned - son is cooking at school - smoked haddock pie and trifle.

We're having fried shrimp, baked potatoes, and spinach salad. I sure would like to have a little dungeness crab  to go alongside.

Mama, I love everything on that plate. :thumb: Looks beautiful.

Seafood cooking class: Latin spiced shrimp cakes, mahi mahi with pineapple rum sauce, salmon with pistachio basil butter, and scallops with capers and sun dried tomatoes. Maybe I'll get some pix to post later.

Along with the pictures post the recipes also. :bounce:

I got my food groups in with some things I had a taste for.
Baked orange roughy with a little cajun and dill seasoning. French fries, the catsup was added later. And I put a handful of cheddar and a little cream in with the broccoli for a little changeup.
