A little bit about me:

My name is Angel and Fisher's Mom is my mother-in-law. I am very new to this whole cooking thing. I've joined this forum in the hopes of expanding my cooking knowledge, and hopefully coming away with some new family favorite meals. I look forward to learning and sharing with all of you, and I thank you all for the warm welcomes I've already received. :mrgreen:

Welcome, Angel. Yes, some of us old Catholic boys still have that nun kink floating around in the empty space between our ears. I just know that nuns don't wear undies in the summer...maybe never.:shock: And what's this I hear about a tunnel between the convent and the rectory? Hmmmmmm... Does Mother Superior prefer the female superior position? So many questions, so few answers. No wonder I fantasize. :yum:
 
At Last

Hi every one
My name is David and I come from Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England.
I have known Lucky and Peggy as well as many others for about 4+ years in another life that seems to have gone sour!
At last I have found where they are all hiding and hope to catch up with them all and make some new friends as well.
I spent 23 years teaching Catering at the local College and taught basic cookery, advanced food and drink service. I left teaching about 14 years ago when the college went through a restructure and many of us "OLD HANDS" were "let go" as we were too expensive......
I then ran a small cafe and outside catering business until 4.5 years ago when I had to give up because of serious illness. This is all in the past and I am fit and well again.
I enjoy travel and eating out in local restaurants wherever we go. Local food is more interesting than international cuisine which is availabe world wide.
I have been fortunate enough to have eaten in some 3* michelin restaurants both here in the UK and in France. Quite often though the food in the local restaurant is more interesting and a lot cheaper.
I also spend time on my allotement where we have 50 different crops growing at the moment.

Welcome aboard, Angel. If you want to learn more about cooking, NCT is a wonderful resource. If you want to have some fun Internet banter NCT is as good a place as any. When you get a free moment, as your mother-in-law why her knives are so dull. :)

hmm, interesting about michelin starred restaurants. most americans love food so much we don't think of michelin as a star, but a body type...
