Re: Urmaniac has resurfaced

Hi Licia! Welcome to Net Cooking Talk. You are our first member from Italy that I know of. And it just so happens I'm going to an Italian restaurant tonight. :D
I so look forward to getting to know you and seeing some of your pics. I've been to Rome, but that was quite a few years back when I was in the US Navy .... and yes, I was a seaman. :D

ps: love your member name. :thumb:

Re: Urmaniac has resurfaced

lololol... good ol' bucky:bouncy:

Hi ya Doc!! Yes I have been living in Rome for 6+ years now, and learned a lot of authentic Italian cooking all from scratch, and discovered so many myths and misunderstanding about all the stuff known as "Italian food" abroad. I would like to share some of my learning/discovery here and if anyone has any question about Italian food let me know:cool:

Re: Urmaniac has resurfaced

Welcome, Licia, to the best cooking site on the Internet. It's also the land of the DC misfits, as you have already figured out. In honor of your arrival to NCT, I have prepared an American-Italian meal for all to savor. Chicken parmesan, spaghetti with DW's homemade sweet sauce, tossed salad with mixed greens and cherry tomatoes and homemade Italian bread. Enjoy!

BTW, we don't have cheese snobs here, so it's alright to use cheese from "the green can," even though mine is in a blue jar (Gia Russa). :yum:

Re: Urmaniac has resurfaced

Ummmmm, Great pic Joe. Heck yeah the cheese in the green can is okay. I use it all the time. DW puts it over popcorn with melted butter. To die for!!!!!! :thumb:

On DC the "Green Can" is grounds for banishment. Just ask a few of the instigators here about that debacle.:yum: I think I was even party to that one. Just another nail in my DC coffin.:bonk::yum:

Welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing your recipes and pic's. Your NCT name brings to mind Flashdance for me. It's stuck in my head now.

Lolol... actually my handle is in honour of two of my heroes from the world of sports.
Urmaniac is taken from my all time favourite skater, 1994 Olympic champion Alexei Urmanov
