Re: Just subscribed

Our idea is to create a sort of open source recipe.
This is what we found, it's like giving directions, people get lost because you omit what you believe is given for granted.
So most of recepies, even ours at the cooking class, are lacking of simple indications that instead are important for beginners.
So our idea is to ask to whoever try our recipes to tell us what we are missing, slowly building the perfect one.

good idea for perfecting your recipes. i've recently found some corrections that i need to make with a few of my recipes. for instance, i realized that i wrote "center cut bone in pork rib roast" when i should have said "end cut bone in pork rib roast" for my recipe of crock pot pork roast with herb and apple butter gravy. a center cut roast is far too lean for slow cooking. you need the fat of an end cut.

now i just need to remember to go back and make the changes permanent.

Re: Just subscribed

Welcome aboard! I love all Italian food, and I look forward to your contributions.

I agree with your approach. When I create a recipe, or even just copy one, I try to simplify the directions and make them as complete as possible but with simple step-by-step directions so that novices, like my daughter, can follow them and produce good results.

:applause::applause::applause:I am so glad you are here, Tuscan Chef! As a novice cook, I appreciate this approach so much. I'm looking forward to trying your recipes.

Hello from Canada

I'm not a chef like most of you but enjoy cooking. My husband and I are separating and since he has always loved my cooking, I've sent him the link to this site as he wants to start to do more cooking for himself. He has checked you out and agrees this is a great site and easy to get around.

I'm looking forward to trying some of the delicious recipes I see posted here as well. I get hungry just reading your posts.

Re: Hello from Canada

Welcome to NCT, Yosemite! I'm not a chef either, just a home cook who enjoys trying new recipes and cooking in general.

Welcome aboard Yosemite! I'm no CHef either, just a foody and home cook, but you don't have to be a chef to love making and eating great food! Glad you found us!
