Thank you all for such a nice welcome! I know I will really enjoy this site. Right now, do not have any recent pictures but, as soon I get some, will post. Again, thanks!

Hi Meme - welcome!

What are some of your favorite recipes?

Re: New From Texas

Well, Lee, I really enjoy cooking more comfort foods along with some soul and of course, southern being Texas has been my home along with all of my family. I love certain tex-mex and oriental recipes also but do not consider myself accomplished on those yet. As far as my "meme" name, I have 8 young grandchildren that attached that to me on my first grandson born 9 years ago. My real name is Sheri but most everyone that knows me go by Meme. I will have that title for the rest of my life...lol....Thanks to all for my nice welcome. Everyone have been very kind.:respect:

I actually live in the small town of El Campo, between Houston and Victoria. It is about a little over an hour drive from you there in SA.

El Campo is a lovely town, Meme! One day, we'll have to have a meet-up! You can show me your pics of your grandchildren, and then I can go home and yell at my kids for not giving me any grandkids yet! LOL

Re: New From Texas

That sounds like a cool idea to me. Actually, today was all of the kiddo's first day of school. All 8 are enrolled in our Catholic school here from 4th grade on down to Pre-K3. Makes it easier if I need to pick them up, I will not be running all around town to different schools. Public school starts next week.

Re: New From Texas

lol, since they could easily be slowed by crippling yardstick blows to the knees...
when i went to catholic school they used yardsticks, those long blackboard pointers (they don't have black boards any more hmmmm no eraser clapping as punishment!! LOL), books over the head and actual spankings!!

i don't think they are allowed to do that any more.

Re: New From Texas

we decided against sending my boy to catholic kindeegarten because after all of the requisite rules (members of parish, 75% or better monthly attendance on sundays, tithing, etc.), the children only get 1 hour once a month of religious training in church.

if you expect me to be there every sunday and pay through the nose, how about teaching the kids why every week?

anywho, i hope yours parish is better, meme.
