I believe that is what the website suggests.

The keyboards on my pc's NEVER looked like THAT!!

GET OUT THE ALCOHOL AND COTTON PUFFS!

You've got to get what's inside

Take it to the shop and power wash it.

Use the air compressor to blow the water out, then a little time in the oven at a low heat to dry it out.

Plan B - trip through the dishwasher

First, I fix pc's for a living, so, yes, I have had to use that and worse.

Second, keyboards are cheap enough that I don't clean them. There is usually more wrong than dirty anyway.

Last, your body needs a bit of bacteria around to keep your immune system on it's toes.

I'm with Andy on this one. Stop at Best Buy or Microcenter and get a new keyboard. You should probably have a backup around anyway.

That keyboard is probably in an environment like an auto repair shop where the workers are required to input or lookup data. If that filth is body oil accumulation, I would not be working on it. I refuse to work in homes that are that filthy. But then, I own the company and can choose who I will or will not work for. For those who need each and every job that comes along, there are always vinyl gloves to wear as a barrier. I buy them in 100 pair packs all the time, especially for working in bathrooms, kitchens and any type of exposed plumbing.

And YES, we do need to be exposed to bacteria to build immunity.

there's more than one curious thing other than the dirt.

it's got both GB Pound and Euro keys
the top row is "remapped"
it's got two D keys.....

I'm thinking PhotoShop.

Just buy a keyboard with black keys......

This would help. Just for a giggle, I have one customer that buys a keyboard with no markings on the keys of any kind. He is a touch typist and claims that it keeps folks off his computer (Which is, by the way, immaculate). Just a side funny.

Jim - I love the power washing idea.

Only problem is the modern keyboards would blow apart if you tried it!

I have used a power washer on large backplanes that went through a hurricane. We saved almost all on them.

Remember the first IBM PC and PC-XT keyboards? We rebuilt a lot of those in the day.

The first 4 XT's I installed cost over $20k with lo-res dot matrix printers. We added AST 6-packs to fill them out to the full 640k of memory and for the clock.

They were plugged into serial ports on an ATT 3B2-400 emulating Vt-100 terminals. The accounting folks used Visicalc to write reports.

I vacuum my keyboard and the back vent every time I vacuum. I don't know if you're supposed to do that, but that's what I do.

I turn mine upside down and beat the crap out of it. I only buy the Microsoft ergo keyboards. I am too old to learn a new one without the center spacing and wrist supports. Have a spare downstairs along with a spare trackball.
