I switched to Firefox for a while, but did not like the way some pages were loading up, it was simply weird, switched back to IE7, much better.

Okay, I did it: IE showed a box saying "Save" or "Open." Firefox showed a box with the same options, except "Open" was "Open with," so you can choose the software with which to open the file, which I think is more useful. What do you not like about it?

In FF, it opens a Dialog box with a “Open With” and “Save to Disk” option.

If you click save to disk, it just dumps it to your Desktop and doesn’t allow you to pick the folder, or filename. When it does the download, it opens a 2nd dialog box that tracks your downloads and offers a cleanup.

Not being able to specify the desired folder and filename on the fly is annoying.

That second dialog box is even more annoying.

In IE7, you hit “Save” and it opens File Explorer and you pick the folder, name, and that’s it. Transfer complete with no second tracking box.

In FF :

Tools,

Options,

Main Tab.

Click the button: Always ask me where to save files.

You can also de/select whether to show Download Manager.

Thanks. I haven't played with FF enough to find that, but will check it! :thumb:

I use FF, and yes I set it up to always ask me where to put stuff. I only use IE for a couple of sites that are not compatible with FF.
For ad-ons I have Ad blocker, anti-spy ware, WOT, the weather channel, and some skins to customize it. Then I have a bunch of plug-ins that are mostly for things like Adobe, flashplayer, Mediaplayer, etc.
