I must use the leftover 'lasagna stuffing'
from the stuffed peppers I made.

I will have to get either a eggplant or maybe some squash to make a Lasagna style casserole.

No Pasta for me.

Tonight we're going to the Library of Congress Film Preservation Campus to see a free screening of an old Disney nature film, "The Living Desert". So since we'll be getting out of there too late to dine out around here (except for fast food), I'm going to pop out & pick up rolls & other sandwich fixings so we can have something quick between the time hubby gets home from work & having to leave for the film.

This day turned to crap by 11 AM. My house phone is dead (repair call tommorrow between 8 AM and 7 PM) and several other problems including bank issues and the trouble at my girls school. So I have no clue what dinner will be but probably so sort of take out/fast food.

Sorry to hear about your problems today Peeps. :(
I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you today.

Well, I've decided on a salad of spinach, banana peppers, cuke, onion and carrot w/ sweet onion dressing.
Might heat up a couple of bread sticks from the freezer.

As for now, I'd better get moving.
It's swim day for me at the Y, then a stop at the library.

Thank you Sass. It is really getting crazy. It seems like we have been having a bumper crop of troubles since the middle of July.

I got all the stuff to make cheese and potato blintz and still haven't gotten to it. Now we are in the middle of a bad thunder storm and lights have been flickering. So I am not going to start them and get stuck in the middle with a power fail. Thats just my luck lately. LOL So I think it will be McD chicken selects and a salad. Blintz hopefully tomorrow.

Have a great swim and dinner Sass.

I have no idea. Waiting for an in-home nurse to change my bandages, etc. from surgery on my foot, since I still can't walk. I'll figure it out later. Happy Rosh Hashanah.

Nothing was planned...the Girls DD & DW had Hair doo Day here In House.
DD's Friend came over. It's a good thing lightening didn't flash close to the house, because the girls looked like Reynolds Wrap Foil Heads..

The Town is flooded, and fast food lane..Mountain Ave. ,where all the fast food is, is closed. I had T/O from the Chinese place tonight, but now that's out.
I will make some rice from scratch. Just wishing for rice.

Oooops...Good..the sun just came out!

Wait a minute! Surgery? When did that happen? You said you had an appointment, and now you're suddenly recuperating from surgery! The scoop....the whole scoop...and nothing but the scoop, Cali!

Seriously, are you going to be OK?

CC well wishes and a speedy safe recovery on your foot surgery!
Be careful getting around and rest.

I had rice in a bag. It was what they called dirty rice, and by Knorr's

I could only find a few pieces of rice, and the rest was thin broken up little pieces of spaghetti. I ate it, but it was so starchy and pasty and gluey! DD said, Dad,its a different shape of rice!"

To me it was spaghetti. I'll never make it again.

DW ate some chicken scraps in a container microwaved. That's what I called it from the looks.

We're having what you call, Mexican Macaroni and cheese...boil some Velveeta shells and cheese with Rotel seasoning. Fry some hamburger. Drain hamburger, add Ole El Paso taco seasoning as directed. Put noodles in baking pan, then mix in the Rotel seasoning, cheese and taco meat with the noodles. Bake at 325 degrees til desired thickness.

Those Rotel are great. I can't use them for DW because she says it burns her mouth. I think it's like really mild to my taste.

I'll bet that casserole is great. It looks good!

We had turkey sandwiches made with croissants and smothered in cream cheese and cranberry sauce....Ahhhhh, my belly's full! lol

When it rains it pours my dear. I feel your pain ;)
Did you get to make the blintzes?

Just as I hit the library a wild storm of wind and rain hit.
Did me no good to bother drying my hair at the Y LOL
My salad was good. Hit the spot.
Hope your day improved somewhat.

Paul just called and told me to order chinese. Well... ok... a good wife always does as she's told. Honey chicken, beef with veggies, steamed rice, bbq pork, hot and sour soup and egg noodle soup should be here any minute.

:) I  my hubby

Oh wow! that looks and sounds delicious. :)

Didn't really have "Dinner" last night. Went to a beer tasting, sampled about a dozen beers, had the little appetizer snacks they had out, ran into some friends, won tickets to Sunday's Red Wings/Penguins game as a door prize.. was a good night ;)

I am hoping to do the blintz today.

Glad your salad was good. I had a side salad and chicken selects from McD. It wasn't to bad. The selects are white meat and much better than the mystery meat nuggets. LOL

That looks fantastic. I copied the instructions. Thank you.

I ended up buying some pre-cooked frozen cleaned shrimp & making some lovely shrimp salad with mayo & chopped herbs. Served it up on toasted whole-wheat sub rolls. Was a nice quick meal before popping off to the movies.

That is a lovely and tasty meal B C...

I sometimes make it for DW and me, but not in a big quantity.
DW likes it, and I LOVE it.
DW likes shrimp, but grew up with only what they called "Shrimp in the Basket"..LOL..... All being breaded and deep fried shrimp, and served in a basket on layers of napkins. ...

DW only likes the way I prep the shrimp. After I boil it, I cool and peel them, and then with two forks, I tear apart the shrimp into shreds (like a pulled pork), and then I add the herbs and mayo.
She likes hers on crackers, and me, I like bread or a roll.

Ummmm..... Just thinking of shrimp makes me want some.

ummm...maybe a shrimp and sauce on pizza. Wonder how that would taste??

Yes, I normally do buy raw shrimp & cook them myself for salad, but this time I really needed the cooked ones because we were on a real time thing. I have several dogs to feed & walk, horses to water & feed, then I have to shower & look like a female human in a small space of time - so boiling/peeling/cleaning shrimp just wasn't in the cards. Plus, hubby & I have different preferences for shrimp salad so I end up making two different bowls of it. He wants just shrimp, mayo, & parsley; while I like shrimp, mayo, scallions, & tarragon. So I make up 2 different mixtures.

I like the Scallions too..
Never used tarragon...have to try that.
I usually do papprika..scallions or shallot..celery powder..and black pepper.
A couple drops of fresh lemon juice sometimes.
