so is anyone eating today? any tentative meal plan?

i am tentitvely planning new england clam chowder and a salad and/or a meat probably beef.
but i can always use some inspiration.

i also have the fixings for spinach pies!! yummy

if i had to guess, it'll be some kind of chicken. plain ol' chicken.

dw went food shopping the other day and is going for a late spin class tonight, so i'm sure it'll be something healthy. :yuk:

i've been handing out plastic grocery bags stuffed with lettuce from my garden for the past week, so maybe i'll make a salad to go with the chicken. there should be some baby carrots and possibly a yellow cherry tomato or two ready also.

all of this rain and these cool temps have been great for my spring crops. the lettuce has been unbelievable. but my termaters are staying green.

I have a few tomaters getting ready to ripen. I have a couple lettuce and tomato plants that started from last years seed. lol

what kind of lettuce, cheeks? i rarely get anything that reseeds (besides my hair) except for pumpkins and tomatoes.

ok, you may have some of my lettuce, but you must give me your first born!!!! mwhahahaaaaaa!.

ok, i should 'splain.

i recently bought my son a series of grimm's fairy tales to read together at night.

man, are those some f'd up stories!!! you want to know how much explaining i had to do to a 5 year old about how evil they are???

rapunzel's mom was prego with her, but the dad got caught stealing lettuce from the neighbor (who happened to be an ex-dominatrix...:whistling:), so the neighbor gave them the lettuce in exchange for their first born.

now, i like a good salad now and then, but, damn.

OMG!! to funny!! my first born is a 20 yr old girl with perm PMS!! if i give her to your you HAVE to promise to keep her for at least a week!!

LOL grimms really are scary in the original versions and i read them first and decided NOT to read them to my girls i switched to peter rabbit!!

i mean the hunts man in snow white was supposed to kill her and bring snow whites heart to the evil queen as proof of death! rumpelstiltskin RIPPED himself in half when the queen said his true name!! to name a few heavy poop for bedtime accept to scare the crap outta kids and cause nightmares!! this may explain all the euro carnage in history? LOL

Husbandless again tonight :( so something quick easy and boring that wont give me a headache when i try to give it to the kids to eat.

mac and cheese with hot dogs or tuna in it for the kids and if you don't like it that way you have the dogs on the side of the mac and a salad with tuna on top? that way mom and kiddies will both be happy with minimal fuss? good luck.

ps did you find your oreos?

i am running over my meal for today in my minds eye and i swear my minds nose can smell them!! LOL

anywho heres my plan: cream of clam soup better known as new england clam chowder, chuck steak grilled on my stop top CI grill pan and green 7 lettuce salad with my homemade house dressing.

Chicken stir fry over lettuce instead of rice since we are cutting out some of our carbs.
chicken lettuce wraps!! i think houlihans have those on the menu but homemade is gonna blew them outta the water!!

i think i may change the way i do the steak. i'm thinking of doing it under the broiler. olive oil and season and broil one side and after the flip dress other side with olive oil and seasoned, broiled till almost done then sprinkled with bread crumbs and dry oregano and broiled till crumbs brown and steak is done.

I think I'll fix Homecook's pork picatta tonight. I just took four of the loin chops I cut last week out to thaw.

threw some pork chops in some mojo corillo (sp) this morning ..
will make some red beans and rice and some corn on the
cob to go with it ..

the roving pic thread should hold both a description, & then, tomorrow, photos of my dinner, guys.

I'm thinking we'll do our own variation on "Fish & Chips"...called "Fish Sticks & Tater-tots"...Mmmm! I'm not really in the mood to cook tonight, although I'm thinking of including a salad to balance out all the fried goodness. :chef:

thank you sweetie!!

btw when i make fish sticks and tater tots i pan fry them in very little oil. drain on paper towels or brown bag when done. they are very crispy, not greasy and done in about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the advice...I'm REALLY cheating tonight, frozen fish & taters.
 But I would love to make 'em from scratch...Where would I find the recipe?
