I have lonon broil (maybe marinated), microwave steamed fresh baby spinach, mashed taters and gravy planned for tonight.

I have been off for awhile due to computer and internet issues. PLUS I am getting over a case of food poisoning. The Red Cross (and I don't want to sound ungrateful) has been providing lunches and dinners to my neighborhood since two days after Sandy hit. I haven't been doing much cooking for several reasons. I am not sure if I got it from the food they provided or some drive thru food.

I also need to start prep for Turkey day. This is the firsr year I have been working nights. It will be a challenge this year. In the past when I have been working I do a little prep after work for 3 days before but who wants to come home at 10:30pm and cook? LOL

is a cheese ravioli & salad kinda day. & maybe wilted lemon-garlic spinach.

Glad you're feeling better Peeps. No telling where you could have picked it up.

Something simple tonight. I'm thinking tomato soup and either egg salad, grilled cheese or tuna salad sandwiches.

I like to do early prep for turkey day too. We always have pretty much the same menu with 3 entrees (ham, turkey and lasagna). I already made the lasagna and mac and cheese and froze it Friday. I'll take them out of the freezer Wednesday morning and heat them up Thursday.

if i could, peepz!
(that food poisoning is ugh! i collapsed from a bout i got from this 1 restaurant years ago. my friend kept spare keys to my old place & found me when she brought over pop. methinx i made my way to class @ 6:30 in the morning, somehow.)

mama, ur Thanksgiving feast seems like an a+ meal~

Thanks luvs! I always like to cook a lot because it's my way of showing the family and friends around me just how thankful I am to have them in my life.

poor peep. That rots.

You wouldn't want to be here today...and neither do I.

DD is here putting up the tree in the livingroom. Tina is on the couch watching 5 VCR tapes made in 1999 of the Great Depression. A history channel thing.

What a riot..... What's for supper??? No input from anybody!!

Looks great Joe! Havn't had scalloped taters in months. They do go Good with Ham.

Yes! I do tease the wimins! I don't really mean to, but It is fun.
I have a knack of silently teasing!

The other night, DW cleaned the stovetop. She retired to the living room to watch TV, and later...I pulled out the vacuum cleaner and vacuumed the pre filters on the exhaust hood.
OMG, she flipped out on me. I said," When I clean the stove...the hood goes with it!

It was WW-III.. hahahahaha

We picked up another bulk pack of boneless chicken breasts @$1.77 lb. We browned 2 cut into small pieces in coconut oil and added stir fry veggies and sauce. Man I like that stuff. Have plenty left for lunch or supper tomorrow. I am hoping my buddy gets the hogs to butcher over Thanksgiving weekend. Can't wait to smoke some loins for smoked pork chops.

I haven't been able to find a good smoked bone in pork chop in 30 years. I LOVED them as a kid when mom would get them. YUM!! I miss them.

The local place does the whole loin and bacon and ham and slices and vac seals them. My buddy does the sausage because he spices and smokes the sausage like I did when I was still doing it. Wife keeps fighting me about setting up a butcher shop but I have a big pile of lumber in the barn waiting to build something with. Might at least do a smoke house again. I like smoked cheese also.

The wife made supper tonight.

Quick, hamburgers cooked and braised in onions...then gravy made.
She made mashed potatoes for her.

We ate so fast. We must have been tired from doing Nothing Today!

Now DW is watching the 3 hour classic move,"The Ten Comandments" with Charleston Heston!
Gosh I remember Grandma and I saw it years ago. Got all dressed up. Gram wore her Big Coat with the Big Pockets. She made provalone sandwiches, had biscotti, and grapes.
That was beside the popcorn (30 cents) and the candy.

She wants me to watch it with her....uhh...I don't think so! 3 Hours??? Uh Uh!

You know what I was thinking for supper tomorrow?
Now, I may be far off wit dis...but I am thinking...duh!

I have two pre-baked pizza dough crusts..ok? I was thinking of a Philly cheese Steak pizza somehow. I have the steaks already cooked and frozen.
I'm just thinking of a layer of some fried onions, maybe some peppers, and then a layer of grated provaloni cheese, then the steak, and a layer of either Mozzarella or some Cooper Cheese on top. A drizzle of olive oil, and away we go.
A few brews wit that...Ummmm!! NO Tomatoes though!

I'm still thinking!!.... .... .... .... .... .... Gotta watch the steak doesn't dry out?

i've oft' seen the pork yinz speak of. have yet to cook that fer me, tho. think i cooked w/ that somewhere @ 1 time. not here, tho.
jimmy, if 'dem wimmins kick u to 'da moon, i fully support the notion, hehe. jim-stigator!
i have yet to cook. im'ma wait 'til morning (aka 12:30-2:30pm) & make a complex & sophisticated brekkie of multi-grain cheerios w/ a pop.

There is a deficiency / setback / whatever.....today

DD was over making dough for her pressed cookies she will make tomorrow.

DW was at the store picking up last minute things for cooking.

I had a sliced sandwich pepperoni that I found in the bowels of the refrigerator, and slapped that on two slices of Sunbeam (Dry) Bread that DW got for 1.99....:yuk:

A pack of Yodels (Drakes Cakes) that will be washed up in the Hostess bull crap.

DW is now making Moussaka to take to her Uncles Tomorrow, and I'm sitting here humming "Jingle Bells". Dw's favorite song, but NOT when I hum it. I don't hum well either. I like it that way!!

Just Being a "Jim-stigator" as named by luvs. I love that new Name.:yum:
Thank You Aubrey....hahahahahaha

I've been left to my own devices while DW is at the daughter's house for the week helping with the grandkids, so I treated myself tonight to TWO goose liver sammies on wheat with mayo, onions & provolone cheese. I'm in heaven over this simple dinner. I am not worthy...

Thanks luvs.... Happy Thanksgiving to You, and yours....

We have to go out and get a bigger microwave oven, because the 20 Lb. Bird won't fit in this one we got. hahahaha....

My Baby was over today working and baking up a storm.
Mommy"T" was down South Jersey to get her Uncle so he could have Thanksgiving with us.

Here she is changing out the dishes from the summer ones; to the winter ones. I hate the square dishes, but I have my own round one.

They weigh a ton too! ......

Looks good Jimmy. I always figured those square dishes were a waste of pottery. You don't ever put any food on the corners.:yum:

Thanks Mountain man... hahhahahahaha

I yell at the table...OK people...set your plates parallel... Square off!... Darn It.

Let's get this table squared away. hahahahah

These plates are so thick, they cool off the food quickly!

That's OK, because i have an Idea. I'm gonna set the big electric heating blanket under the tablecloth.
I could hear it now! .... " Gee, dad,""I smell Vicks Vapo-Rub!"

Yeah, " I put a tbs. of it in the mashed potatoes!" "Guaranteed to clean you out!"

Made my wife some Korean seafood soup... jjambong!
Slightly spicy, with vegetables, squid, mussels,
shrimp and a bit of pork.
Not at all bad for a first try!

It looks and sounds great Kimchee.

I have some m u s c l e s and some seafood. Now I want that tomorrow.
I love a soup like that. Cheddar cheese crackers go good with that too!

great u like, jimmy. they're gone fer the season, here, now. the ones i've got- they'll be put onto a chowder/soup, as per usual. how'll yinz use them~
they're def. yummy- a balance of spiciness, yet mild enough to have plenty.
