Whats cooking Friday September 18, 2009?

Well the best laid plans are usually .....................

I don't have to cook, DH will be out and my son will be working.

No idea. Very hectic day and I'm still fired up everytime I talk to people about PA's gov't busting my chops every chance they get. Lottso beer. That's all I know at this point.

that bad chow??? if so i will have some just for you too...... :)
ya know.... just 'cause i care...... hehe

Well, let's all get together..........that's what I'm doing!!!!

:beer::beer::beer::beer:

i used to call scallops "sea fat" when i was younger. i guess i never had them cooked properly.
but when i had hotategai (scallop sushi) i realized what all of the fuss was about. they should be served either raw or just barely cooked, not even all the way through, imo.

Dinner:

Mini fusilli topped with green olive sauce

Can't wait to see 'em! I had fried bay scallops today for lunch :mrgreen:at Red Lobster:mrgreen:. Those biscuits sure were good though.

Any idea what I called them? I can't find them in my pics, but that's not what I had tonight anyway. I know I posted some scallops here not too long ago though... That's going to bug me now where they are hidden.

Tonight's seafood dinner at the "local" seafood joint. My place :respect:

First time grilling tuna. I used Fryboy's marinade, but AB's grilling technique, on the charcoal chimney, or jet engine as he called it. One minute each side. I almost hated to cut into it...

And I also grilled some shrimp, basted with Gallagher's hot sauce. And fixed some broccoli in my usual way. The sauce sloppily applied onto the tuna slices was simmered; soy, honey, lime juice, pepper flakes and cillantro.

And yes, I actually used lime juice, but cut into a lemon for a garnish! My first garnish!

My wife and I worked together tonight and made some seasoned baked salmon with mashed potatoes and peas with a nice honey / soy sauce.

I love this dish!

beautifull plating i LOVE the garnish!!

Soy and honey... I love it Blues. And here I thought I came up with something.
Very nice.

And thanks Peeps! I forgot to say I'd really like to try that pasta with green olives. That sounds like it might approach the capers flavor I am coming to love. What a unique combination (to me).

you're welcome and thank you. i ran out of capers awhile back and haven't gotten more or they would have been in there. my mom would make olive sauce and white clam sauce for me on the "meatless" holidays to top my pasta because i don't like fish that much (i do like clams).

Thanks, Q. Appreciate it.

That's interesting Peeps. My family was never so creative on Fridays, or meatless days.

I'm drinking a few beers and I baked some pepperoni chips to snack on.......that's my dinner. lol

Peeps, that pasta dish looks great. Do you have a recipe for the green olive sauce?

Fred, I love most any kind of seafood and that dish looks amazing!!

Blues Man, great looking meal!

Thanks, Blues. Missed your post until BT's quote, then I had to backtrack to see what he was talking about (lol).

This is as close as I get to sushi BT. Rare tuna. I was happy enough with it that I'll be making it again.

Thanks Barb. And thanks for reminding about those pep chips. I've got some sliced pepperoni just begging for a tour of the oven.
