What's cookin' Saturday 12/11?

When we leave the restaurant today, Lou and I will decide what's for dinner!

Actually, we're decorating the tree tonight, so it will probably be something we can eat standing up!

Any suggestions people?? Funny..I cook all day now and have no desire to make anything when I get home, yet I don't want to give up my Saturday evening meals...

We're on our way to the Puerto Vallarta Saturday Farmers' Market this morning and also plan a stop at Costco, so I'm sure I will find something inspiring.

It's my weekend to work.
Nothing here at home to inspire a brown bag, so it'll most likely be Subway.
Flatbread melt and soup.
Oh, and the goodies train has officially pulled in at the facility.. so now there are always plenty of cheese balls, crackers, cookies and lovely holiday candies sitting around to munch on.
Our residents and patients families are very good to us this time of year.:brows:

I have leftover onion soup, leftover pork roast, and lots of fresh salad greens. I'll end up doing something with those.

The order of business for the remainder of the evening is this:

Shower;)
Decorate the christmas tree while listening to the Cape May Brass Band and drinking booze with a bit of eggnog swirled in.
Upgrade to a more serious cocktail.
Create dinner which consists of beautiful 8-10 count head on gulf shrimp, served on arugula, topped with toasted breadcrumbs.
Main Course - NY Strip steaks, sauteed mushrooms, roasted potatoes, served with a cabernet
Sweet potato pie from the restaurant, hopefully (if we're still standing) served with irish coffee

So, gimme a minute, then I can get started on this list!

We went to see Narnia: Dawn Treader. After we went to Panda Express and we are all still full. So it will be whatever later. LOL

My bromeliad club is having its holiday party today. It's potluck. I'm cheating and taking Trader Joes spinach salad.

I got some beautiful thick pork chops at Costco, as well as some fresh brussels sprouts, so that's what we'll be having for dinner, with some smushed potatoes.

Well, i spent the morning shopping, and the afternoon cooking. I made meatballs for spaghetti, turkey chili and fried chicken breast for Chicken Parmesan. All this for future meals for the priests that my wife cooks for at her job. It's all in the freezer portioned for 4 adult meals.

I then got busy and made dinner for me and DW... Chicken Cordon Bleu with white rice, green beans and a Romain salad.

Beautiful chicken, Joe! Picture perfect, and I'll bet it tasted great, too. We had braised pork chops, smashed potatoes and gravy, Brussels sprouts, and a bowl of fresh pineapple. Real comfort food, as it is chilly here today - got down to 57F last night. Don't laugh - we have acclimated to the tropical climate and have no heat or warm clothes. Brrrr.

Beautiful Karen!!

Son came home from college for the holidays... had his room mate with him. Baked chicken tenders with garlic/red pepper seasoning, oregano, s&p. Served it with spaghetti with a jarred alfredo sauce with lots of parmesan. Served it with peas.

Mmmmm Karen. That's nice.
Comfort food for sure!

Again, nice dinner Joe.
I need to make that chickie cordon bleu sometime. ;)

I brought sweet potato pie from the restaurant for dessert...but after working all day, decorating the tree and then cooking, both Lou and I passed out on the sofa well before any thoughts of dessert!! Maybe I'll have it for breakfast!

Whoo Hoo! Vera's cooking!

Have missed your pics lately. Dinner looks great.

Just think, it's Sunday so you can take it easy. :yum: :hide:

Take it easy????!!! This is the only day I can bake christmas cookies! In fact, I really do have to get going with that!
