What's Cookin' 2/11/09 Dinner Thread

Wednesday Nights for me are carved in Stone.

Lesley and I go out to supper.

It is Our Mid-Week Date.

Keep in mind that we live in a very small community.

There is a little restaurant in downtown Gladstone that is Called Deb's Home Cookin'.

The food is Edible.

To us--it is almost a Joke.

We Call it --World Famous Deb's.

If passing through and you decide to Stop--Please take something BEFORE you eat there.

I go right for the Prilosec. No sense messin' with the Zantac.

Thought I would mention that it is For Sale Too.

We look Forward to just having the time together without all of the kids and Grand Kids so the food is not really relevant.

Mike....................

rare fillet of beef, asparagus and maybe some corn. or just a salad. if i have sides that are heavy can't eat the whole steak.

Chicken breast in a tomato based sauce. Came out good! I took photos but my batteries dies before I could upload em :( I'll post them in tomorrows thread:smile:

Homecook's cheesy ham and bow ties.
Pretty damn good and very simple to make.

How did you buy the ham? Was it cooked already?

Yes. it was just a regular ham, not a fresh ham. They sell it in small 1.5 lb chunks here. I love these things, you can slice it for lunch meat and eat it cold, slice it thick for breakfast or dinner, or julienne a few slices for this dish.... I think a smoked ham must be the most versatile meat there is. I always keep some on hand.
