My Senior year, Friday nights were spent driving thru Big Boy's Drive-in Restaurant and, one mile down the road, a Daley's Drive-in..... Big Boy's had the better food, tho.... Hey Sass, do they still make the "Slim Jim", which was a ham & cheese , toasted ?
They have something similar now.
I think it may be called a Buddie Boy.
The menu is more limited now than it was years ago, that's for sure.
The Sunday breakfast buffet is a thing of beauty lol

Breakfast Buffets at Big Boy's didn't exist in those days.......

But the Slim Jim remains in my heart, and in my mind... LOL
Not quite a hoagie, but so much more than a ham sandwich...

Last night was Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, onion gravy and microwave steamed broccoli.

THX !!
The bun ain't "Slim" any more, but the layers appear to be the same.....

Methinks that the Slim Jim was pressed, somehow.....

Thank you. There was nice fond in the pan.

I whipped the taters with a hand blender. I added salt, pepper, cream cheese, butter and 1/2 & 1/2.

As of now dinner plan is something with a chuck roast done in the Instant Pot.
I may try sous vide for the first time. If I have 2 - 3 hours available later.

We're having ribs now too.
Got company coming.
My ex hub. Lol
He's coming to see our grandies and staying for dinner.

Dinner will probably be reverse seared chuck roast (DD wants it this way), red taters pan fried with onion and mushrooms and steamed broccoli.

I am also planning on making 2 types of BBQ sauce (for the ribs on 4th of July). This will be first run so I'm making them early in case they are a fail and I need to buy BBQ sauce. I figure if they turn out good allowing them sit a few days will meld/marry the flavors better.

I made the 2 BBQ sauces.
DD didn't want the chuck steak so we decided to have tuna. Hub and DD had tuna salad and I had tuna in a bowl with black and green olives and lemon juice.

I'll post recipes and pictures of the sauces after they chill and IF they turned out good.

I posted recipes and pictures for the BBQ Sauces in the pressure cooker forum.
