today is wednesday! week half way done!
What you all cooking today?? or eating!!!
me, I have no idea---in a yogurt kick lately!! :WitchBrewsSmiley:

Happy mid week day! LOL

It will either be a repeat of meat sauce and pasta or if I get to the store I want to pick up farmer cheese I will make cheese, onion and potato blintz. If I get 2 or 3 pans going at once I can get the crepes done quicker. I haven't made them in a long time and the family has been requesting them for awhile now.

Our one car started to smoke under the hood yesterday and hub thinks/hopes it was just a blown hose. So after we get the car looked I will decide what dinner will be.

No cooking for us today - Wifey has bowling tonight so we'll just grab a burger up at the pub. $4.95 for a decent burger, fries and a beer. Sort of hard to beat, especially if you're in a hurry (Or still waiting for your new refrigerator to be delivered).

;)

OK I got to the store and if all goes as planned I will make cheese and potato blintz served with sour cream and apple sauce and a salad with julienned smoked turkey breast on top to round out the proteins and veggies with the carbs.

Otherwise it will be meat sauce and pasta with the salad.

I'll be making food for our canoe trip later today. Stuffed cubanellas for 14 guys on Friday and beef paprikash with spaetzles for Saturday. I'll freeze it all so we just have to heat them up in camp. Bought the peppers this morning at a local stand for $1.50 per heaping quart, with 8-10 peppers per quart. Giant Eagle wanted $3.99/# for the same peppers, and they looked like they were swept up off the floor. I sure hate that store. Gotta go to Sams Club for the Angus chuck roasts and mild Italian sausage later.

I am taking a Stouffer's Turkey Tetrazzini to nuke at work.
Will see about making a salad to go with it.

Tonight I'll be making Calamari (aka squid) in jarred Vodka Sauce (actor Paul Sorvino's brand - great stuff, although I do tweak it with a little more vodka - lol!), with a green salad on the side.

So Far...Lunch today was......

Kielbasa / fried in onions slowly, and potato wedges.

DW made it / DD, DW and I ate it, and here is the leftover.
Snack time before nite nite! ...(*Burp*):readytoeat:

Thanks peep...

I'm now burping it, but it's a good burp taste!...

DD left to go home and take her allergy and sinus pills. I told her to lay down and rest, but these kids don't know what it is to rest.
She is so sick, but yet she will try to push herself. I get so mad!
I told her to come for supper, but she said she doesn't want to think of food now. K I D S >>>:bonk:

I've got peppers onions, potatoes, and cheese with salami sandwiches for tonight. I've got the Italian bread too. Hmmmmm!!!

A couple of friends just returned from a cruise down the Danube River. They brought me a large package of real Hungarian sweet paprika from Budapest.

So tonight, I made Chicken Paprikash. Spatzle on the side. The pics are only so-so, but the dish was fabulous! The paprika was so sweet & pungent. Nothing I get at the grocery store can compare. It was a real treat to use.

I just had to post these cubanells before I start cleaning and stuffing them. I bought 5 quarts this morning for $1.5o/qt.(5.2#). I just love the fall colors of peppers. I bought the sweet onions there as well for $.95/# I spent $11 for everything.

Oooooo! I love the look of peppers too Joe!

I had a whole bunch of the long red ones. I processed them and canned them in jars.
I still have them in the cool area on the floor of a cabinet on the lower level slab.
they are still perfect, and I opened one jar already, and used them for sausage and peppers mixed with green ones, and they were delicious.

What kind of stuffing do you make? Are those really hot peppers? I've never had them...
