True or false?

I was talking to my friend about that and he said the person that tells the truth always tells the same story. I was under impression that person who tells the truth never tells the story the same way. There are always different details, some things might even change.
The person, who is NOT telling the truth, will tell the story exactly the same way, providing person prepared the story beforehand and memorized it.
My assumption is based on the movie I saw it once, where a person is being interrogated and always tell the same story, word by word, and interrogator tells a student (or somebody else) that theory.

Am I wrong? Or was it movie correct, and thus I am correct?

I have always believed that no matter how many times you repeat a story using the truth, it will always come out the same because the truth never changes, and you have lived the truth. Unless you have brainwashed yourself into believing your own lies, a lie is difficult to remember because it never actually happened. But there are really good liars out there, so I guess it could work your way.

I agree with Joe. Now, if they are telling the truth the story will never change...the words they use may change and they may include more details that were not in previous versions but the actual facts of the story won't change. If someone is repeating a story word for word, they may well have memorized it and be lying.

I see where you're coming from, Charlie. It seems that the person lying would be trying hard to tell it the same way and the story would remain unchanged, same as if it was true.
Just remember what George Costanza from Seinfeld said; It's not a lie if you believe it.

Thanks Mama, Chow & Qsis. You explained it better, yet we are on the same page. Oh, Fred, I'm not so sure about George.:lol:
