TRUTH !!

Modeled after the mutual fire societies from Franklin's home town Boston, this was the first one in Philadelphia, although another company was formed within a year. They were required to pay for their own equipment, and, apart from fighting fires, they also were tasked with protecting property from theft. Franklin founded a number of community organizations, including the Library Company of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
