TRUTH !!

Apparently, Alexey Pajitnov's inspiration for the video game Tetris was a puzzle game called 'pentominoes'; a game in which different wooden shapes are made into five equal squares. Alexey Pajitnov was working at the Academy of Science in the USSR when he designed and programmed Tetris. His favourite sport was tennis, so he named Tetris by combining 'tetra', which means four in Greek (this four being relevant because each block consisted of four adjoining cubes) with tennis. Since its release in 1984 at least one hundred million paid games have been downloaded onto cell phones alone.
