Sunday..9/25/2011..Whats cooking for today?

I definetely made up my mind already...

I know DW is going to make chicken soup from a carcass DD brought over.''

On what is gonna be for Jimmy Here...I figured "Alices Eggs" for Breakfast...

No lunch....maybe a few crackers and dips or cheese.

Supper..."Pork Burgers".. Ummmm!.. Nice and lightly browned, and with fried sliced potatoes; with applesauce.
Veggie..probably Corn.:corn: If I had a Gagootze, I would cube and boil that.
Maybe DW will stop at the farmstand and get a nice yellow squash.

I'm up early this Sunday. made chicken salad for DW and DIL.
Washed and put away the dishes. and... cleaning up cardboard and packaging from the flooring we just had installed in the parlor. Ooops! I mean Living Room.. :dizzy:..
It came out great. Now there will be new moulding and trimwork left to do.

SOoooo! What Have Y O U Planned ??

DW needs her Alexa fix, so we're going to DD's for dinner. I'm going to a ham radio show (Hamfest) this morning out by the CLE airport and will be back by lunch time to make whatever side or dessert she wants us to bring.

The humidity is like a 100%!! It is sunny and will be in high 70's today! great planning for soup--huh!!!:bonk:
But asthma is still bugging me--didn't do half the stuff I had to yesterday cuz of it..cleaning will wait...put the AC on yesterday...
but soup is easy to eat and freeze..
 
I just had nice big breakfast Eggs Benny.. Some awesome awesome coffee.Carmel Apple. :clap:

Dinner is not on my mind yet. I did take out a large rib eye last night so maybe I will have that with a broccoli casserole. Or whatever fancys me at the time :lol:

Squash...

I love it..even pumpkin but not mashed. I like to cook it almost to soft, and then smash it with the fork as I eat it.
 
We didn't eat the anasazi beans last night, was tired after a day on the lake, so we had Totino's (yep, love it). So, today, we have some errands to do, then a drive up on the mountain to see the aspens, then possibly grilling something with the Ansazi beans on the side.
 
I had breakfast at the diner this morning (eggs, toast, double bacon order and 2 cups of coffee) so.. I don't know.
Was hoping to try my hand at a Greek pizza recipe.
Haven't made a home made pizza in like,.... forever!

DW has the (Her /their / ) chicken soup cooking.

She is going to use what they call cut spaghetti.

I was going to make pork burgers, but DW is still not feeling well enough to eat.
I'm not cooking for one....so I will see what I will make. Maybe a chili burger (s).

Im still cleaning sawdust from the floor installation Friday.
 
Tonight we're having fresh "Tri-Color Three-Cheese Tortillini" from the supermarket with jarred Newman's Own "Roasted Garlic Alfredo Sauce" & a big green salad. Both of us still suffering from the hacking-cough cold from hell, & this commercial comfort-food quicky is what suits us both today - lol!

last yr around xmas sometime mine started. before or after I don't remember but I coughed & coughed. It lasted till end of Jan. I didn't go to Doc till I had a rip roaring headache. Seems I had a sinus infection & pheumonia. Now when I cough , thats the first thing I think ,,Oh NO..
I will not let that happen again lol

Get better..
 
Thanks! Yup - I went thru the same thing some years ago. Got a bad cold & coughed for, like, 3 months. Then one day, noticed that all food & drink tasted bad - like rotten bad. Went to the doctor & ended up having to have a CAT scan. Luckily, no brain tumor, but turned out to be a nasty sinus infection that I wasn't even aware of because I wasn't even congested anymore. The body can do really strange things.
 
Change of plans here, myself and a friend are going to A&W for foot long dogs and root beer floats.

Nice! We went out for brunch this morning and ate so much I don't think we'll have anything tonight but small salad & crackers tonight lol
 
Got three gallons of homemade Vietnamese Pho soup in the making.
Absolutely one of the best flavors I have ever had, well worth the
time and effort to make.

YUM!

I put some frozen meatballs with gravy in a crock pot, cooked it all day, so we can top off the mash potatoes with it.....

Change in plans this week end..
last night was supposed to be hamburger stuffed with onion; and today was supposed to be chicken soup..
I made the change cuz I didn't feel so good...
last night dad had frozen gnoccis; I had l left over spinach salad..
Today, was so humid and I really didn't feel like making soup..so had the hamburger, roasted sweet potatoes, and green beans..
I didn't feel like the burger, so I had to tater and green beans..
just quick, easy, suppers.
Froze the chicken for next week!:dizzy:
 
I took one too many pain killers, then we went for a drive on the mountain, gravel roads, paved roads with hairpin turns.... yep, I got sick. While I was down this afternoon, husband went grocery shopping and will be grilling burgers. I did get the beans on the stove just now, reheating them with the meat from the ham hock, and added some other stuff to make it more like "baked" beans... sweet, barbeque style.
I had a peanut butter sandwich not long ago and that is helping.

Thanks, they are basically our backyard... 15 minute drive. We pretty much just have lodgepole pines and aspens, so we get lots of gold mixed with the green. (Go Steelers!)
The sandwich helped and the burgers will be even better!
 
looks like another change of plans here too.

I took a allergy pill around 1:30 & have had a all day long nap. :ohmy: I have stopped sneezing but I sill have the itchy back of throat.

I will skip dinner & go right to my Sugar free chocolate pudding cup .

I should have dessert first anyway :encore:

Amazing Race is on. :heart: Then Masterpiece :heart::heart: Then CSI Miami :heart:
so I am all set for the evening.

Mom used to grow gagootz longer than a baseball bat!

EVERYONES meals sound wonderful and like fantastic.
 
Dinner last night:

Corn and bacon waffles (corn meal, flour, eggs, baking soda, baking powder, dry buttermilk powder, salt, vanilla, milk, sugar, corn kernels, cooked bacon, butter and bacon fat) topped with butter, syrup, cherry topping and sour cream.
