Sour Cream Apple Cake​

Ingredients​

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped peeled tart apples
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
In a medium mixing bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a larger mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Slowly and carefully alternate the flour mixture and sour cream into the creamed mixture until well combined. Fold in the chopped apples. Spoon into a greased 9x9 baking pan. Combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the top of the batter. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack.

One question -
For topping: 1 cup chopped ??
 
Thanks, Sharon, it looks and sounds wonderful! I'm assuming that the word "walnuts" is the missing word for the topping, so I added it.

I'd like to make this!
