Paul and I are having a house built. It's been quite fun/scary/exciting and stressful.

Loved picking out all the new things and the colors and the tiles...but boy oh boy we have not enjoyed writing so many checks. LOL:bounce:

I think I need a few :margarita::margarita:!

We felt like we had a reserved spot at Lowes when we went through the building process. And boy oh boy the decisions sure get to you after a while. Try to stay ahead of them if at all possible. Take you time picking out lighting for each room. We were rushed and it cost us in the long run cause we ended up replacing half of what we got to start with.

It will get very stressful at some points. Take a deep breath and move on. It is so worth it in the end. After all ...it's only money. LOL

Best of luck to you through the building process. Share pics as you can (Please).

Nice! How exciting to see your own home being built from the ground up. Do you have a sketch of the finished home?

Move photos to come Doc. Thanks for the lighting advice.. we've stood for hours in each room trying to figure out exactly how we want lights. We've even measure all of our furniture and tape the sizes out on the new floors ( plywood at this point) to make sure we put them in the right places. Same with outlets.

BtW.. this is an older photo. All three floors are done now and we have windows and a roof :) Paul just called and said part of the siding was on now too.

The whole idea was to down size and get something easier to take care of. Our first choice was a rambler. WELL.. the house is 500 sq feet smaller than the last but, lol it's three floors instead of two.

When it's finished it will look something like this... http://www.burnstead.com/new-homes/...gesattalus_gallery/bridges-issaquah_lot51.asp we have made some changes though. We skipped the elevator and changed the space into a walk in pantry. We removed the sitting area around the kitchen island and put in more cupboards and added a bookshelf and because of the lot that it's being built on we had to add an extra room downstairs... Paul also made the garage a little larger.

LED's are big right now for lighting. A friend just redid a bathroom and added LED lights over the tub / shower. Great idea i thought. Now I want to add them to our primary bathroom. LED's are cheaper to run also. :thumb:

Looking forward to more recent pics. :D

Beautiful!!!!!!! What a house. Love it. Especially the bedroom windows! And a guy always needs a bigger garage. :D :thumb: :tiphat: :clap: :clap:

THANKS! We think we're going to be very happy there. Big change for us since the last house was in the woods with 12 other houses all on very large lots. This house is in a busy neighborhood. It's even attached at the garage to the house next door. I'm guessing we won't see many bears walking through the yard anymore. We'll miss the wildlife but we are so happppy to be close to town again.

It's going to be beautiful! Love all that natural light and the bathroom is my dream bathroom.

It's a house now!! Have lots of photos but they are all on Paul's computer. I'll try to get some new ones added for you soon!

Going to love living there!
