These are soft and chewy Blondies.

These are best if made the day before and allowed to sit in the pan overnight.

(See below for complete printable recipe)

Here's what you're gonna need:

1 cup of butter (2 sticks), melted
2 cups of light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of chopped pecans, finely chopped (optional)

Here's what you need to do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish

Pour the melted butter into a large mixing bowl. Add the brown sugar. Mix well

Add the baking powder, salt and vanilla. Mix well.

blondie-6.jpg

Add the flour.

blondie-7.jpg

Mix well.

In a seperate dish, use a fork or a wire whisk to scramble 2 eggs well.

blondie-9.jpg

Add to the blondie batter.

blondie-10.jpg

Mix well.

blondie-11.jpg

Mix in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Pour into the prepared 9 x 13 baking dish.

The batter will be thick so you will need to spread it around the pan. Don't worry if it's not perfectly even, the batter will even out in the oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes (the center will still be kind of gooey)

Allow to cool completely before cutting. Preferrably overnight.

Drool, mama even the batter looks good! I wish I could reach right into the computer and grab one!

I can't bake to save my life, but I need a home-made dessert. This is IT! You make it look so easy! Thank you! I can't wait to make these!

Thanks! I can't wait until the homemade vanilla ice cream is done that I'm making in my new Ice Cream maker. Melting all over the top of those Blondies.......YUM!

I realize this is a little late in coming, but I made up a batch of these yesterday and they are outstanding!!! And if it helps to sweeten the pot, they are so simple to make-Mama, your recipe is perfect!!:applause:

Took em' out of the oven at 5:30PM last night, and there are 4 left-I'll be makin' these again very soon!

silly lady.... did you say "let them sit overnight" ??????
I'd have to make them about a minute before I fell over dead asleep...... :D
yum!

I had a hankering for blond brownies and, lo and behold, I found (again) an NCT recipe!

It's easy and makes a lot, so I have plenty to give to my friends.

My cuts aren't as neat as Mama's were, but like suzieque observed, I didn't wait till the next day to cut them!
