Saturday! July 9 2011- Dinner

I would really like to have some mustard greens, but that means a trip to the grocery store . So I'm really not sure yet.

Bob Evans meatloaf (meatloaf and the gravy was slightly sweet, why do restaurant cooks always have to put sugar in EVERYTHING!?!?!? It tasted lousy to me.), salad w/blue cheese dressing and beef veggie soup. I wasn't really happy with any of it. It may be because I have a bit of a cold. I took comtrex and hope that will allow me to nap.

I am craving many wings and a big salad.
Said salad must have blue cheese dressing!
You?

may i join uuuuu 4 dinner!~ sounds delicious!

I went swimming then stayed at the friends place for burgers on the grill.
So, no wingies had I.

I made Chili cheese fries for me and chili cheese dogs for hubby, the girls had just plain dogs and green beans...until the little one came and started eat the chili off all my fries!!:pat:

Peeps, are you talking about the store bought kind?

Yeah, it's not all that.
The only thing I ever buy ready made of that brand are the mashed potatoes and the mac and cheese (in the two little container pack).

My son and I went to pick up my computer in KC today and had dinner at J. Alexanders. He had steak and fries. I had a white fish with cajun seasoning and couscous. We shared an appetizer of salmon dip with crispy bread slices.

Well...Mr. Jimmy Fix It ..took it apart, and re fried the stuff, and made a frittata...With cheese in it.

Then Mommy breaded and fried Eggy Planty..Yummy Yummy!

ah, i luv sledding so- & lol@ your last post
fried eggplant w/ marinara sauce is a beloved food here, zucchini, too, ummmm~ they sell hoagies hereabouts w/ eggplant on them- have yet 2 get 1 though i've contemplated that often when hungry

@ norm- that salmon dip sounds yummy!

deelady, that sounds great. toooo adorable that your tot snagged your chili~ awwww:yum:

Luv, we both liked the salmon dip best of all. It was sort of a spicy tuna salad with salmon instead. Want to try to make a facsimile.

I couldn't get here yesterday either.

Maybe you'll get your wings today, Sass. That'd be mighty tasty.

Too bad about the meatloaf, Peep. There's no better meatloaf than your own recipe anyway, kwim? Everyone loves their own meatloaf best.

Deelady, chili dogs and fries are a favorite here. I'll bet we have them once a month. Watch out for those chili-snatchers!

Norm, how's your computer working? Bet you're glad to have it back. I made an Italian tuna salad for lunch yesterday that used oil and vinegar instead of mayo for the dressing. It was good for a change. Hope you can recreate the salmon dip.

Jimmy, the fried eggplant looks delish. Nice save on the zucchini.

Luvs, pretty picture of you amongst the flowers. That one is frame-worthy.

I made chicken enchiladas with red beans and rice, and ranch cucumbers.

BBQ'd Pulled Pork on sesame seed buns (from the freshly-made hot food section of the Deli), corn on the cob & coleslaw. Peaches or sliced watermelon would have been a great side. Next time.

If I have any luck, luv, I will, but I imagine it will be a few days before I try. I may have to smoke a salmon first.

thanx, nancy, awwww, that was sweet of u to say (type, lol)

norm, i get my salmon from the kosher sections @ 'iggles, don't have the items to make my own tho i could improv; i'm thinking we made that during 1 module

I looked for smoked salmon in the store just now and all I saw was wafer thin so I got some of that to make a salmon appetizer pizza and a piece of salmon to smoke so I can chunk it. I figure I'll use some sour cream, mayo and dill for starters and see if anything else will be good in it. Probably some onion and maybe a little horseradish.

Luvs, your picture is absolutely beautiful! You are gorgeous! so happy, smiling, twinkling eyes----such a great picture!:whistling::whistling:

Jimmy--eggplant sounds really good--have to make some soon..haven't done it in years---hummmmm ---sandwich or parm?? so hard to decide....

Norm--good to hear about your computer...

Just a 'nothing week end" I am on a staycation for 2 weeks....Yesterday, my dad felt like going out to eat! so we did--he was careful on his salt consumption at home so he could splurge a little..
Today--he wanted to go out for an ice cream--so we did--man was it good! and huge! Needless to say, we weren't hungry...I had some chix, ziti, broccoli in frig, my dad had fried potatoes, onions, and egg......stuffed...
tomorrow--who knows?????:bonk::bonk::encore::encore:
