1 lb of ground sweet Italian sausage
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
olive oil
2 1/2 c (I used my home made) tomato basil soup
1 medium red onion- quartered and chopped
1 T brown sugar
8 dashes worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic- minced
1 handful orecchiette pasta

Brown ground sausage and onion together in a splash or two of olive oil in a large pot, til sausage browns.
Add tomatoes, soup, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce and garlic.
Bring to boil, toss in pasta, then bring down to simmer.
Cover and cook until pasta is tender (I am liking mine al dente). :D

Serve topped with fresh grated parmesan and oregano, and some crusty bread for dipping.

That looks great Lollie!! I like the idea of the pasta in it.
Thanks again.
Someone asked me today if I'd forgotten to add chili powder or something more spicy to it, in order for it to be "chili".
No, I didn't.
It's my version of what I consider a chili recipe, the sausage, onion, garlic, etc... afforded enough flavour to satisfy, so therefore it's chili.. mine anyway.
Thanks you-know-who.. now make it and tell me you don't love it.

I was wondering why you call it "chili"
and no, it wasn't me who asked. I guess you can call it whatever you want.
It was Chow who asked me in PM, if you must know, in a very kind way.
I didn't want to call it stew, or soup-- but rather chili because it looks like chili and tastes like it even, despite the missing all important (it would seem) chili powder.
