Quickbooks, I need help.

I"ve used it ....been a few years though. Not a pro by any means, but there is a slight chance I might be able to help.
What is the issue?

Adding an Item or part # that would have multiple price tiers, example

Widget Retail price $10

Distributor price $8.00
Direct store price $9.00

Question is would I have to enter 3 different part numbers or can I profile the customers as such..

sorry I can't help. I use QB for non-profit accounting and we don't really have pricing structures.

I have a question but will qualify what I'm about to ask. Now I'm a retired programmer that worked with databases for years creating applications that have similar features to much of what I understand is in quick books. Now I have zero experience with it so take my questions for what they are worth.

OK question #1 is can you have multiple pricing at all for a single part number? If yes then you can assign each price to the part number.

Now question #2 if #1 can be done can you apply something to your customers as to which price they would get?

Now in a data base I can create any number fields on a record say in the case of a part number. Now I can also apply a field to each purchaser as to discount level. So if someone walks in off the street and buys a part you would simple make them pay the most so automatically assign them that rating. The same can be done by changing this for given buyers records in some fashion. I hope that is clear as again I've never looked at quick books. I did create my own program for our storage facility in access.

Yes, thank you Joe. What you said was right. Then I thought about Quickbooks Pro and Renfro's problem and I didn't understand what exactly it was.

Glad it's solved.

Glad to help. I guess I was correct in my assumption that Quick Books is pretty much a basic database application. The only accounting applications I've ever used was the Dak Easy years ago, which was anything but easy. :thumb:
